[N] Peace Train, Cat Stevens.
Most of my friends, you know, know me as kind of
I have a soft spot for Cat Stevens.
I just haven't gotten a lot of requests for Cat.
You know, so I've been, you know, trying to fulfill people's requests.
But anyway, here's Peace Train.
We're gonna need a C chord,
[C]
and we're gonna need a G [G] chord.
Now notice the way I'm playing G chord.
I'm playing it with my ring [E] finger here on the root, middle finger on the second fret, and pinky there.
It's really hard for people, but if you have a chord with lots of C's, F's, A minors, and G's,
my hand shape doesn't have to switch from a C to a G.
So I'm gonna play it this way.
You don't have to, but I highly recommend being able to play [G] G
that way with both fingers for when it goes [B] to D.
You know, [G] one way, like that's the way people learn it at first,
but then also with these fingers.
[C] You [G] know, once you get used [C] to it, it makes
[G] the F's and C's [Am] with that and A minors [C] really easy.
So here's what we need.
We need C.
We [G] need G.
We also need an [F] F,
[C] and
we need an A [Am] minor.
That's it.
Okay, so [C] the first part goes
[G] C, G, [C] C,
down-up, down-up.
Check that out.
[G] [C]
[G] C, [C] G, C, down-up, down-up.
[F] F, [C] C, [F]
F, down-up, down-up.
[D]
Here's what we [C] got.
[G] [C]
[F]
[G] [Am]
[G] Same thing.
G, [Am] G, A minor, down-up, down-up.
[F] [G] F, G,
[F] F, down-up, down-up.
[C]
So [G] C, G, [C] C,
[F] [C] F, [F] C, F,
[G] G, G, [Am] A minor, A minor.
[F]
[G] F, G, [F] F, down-up, down-up.
[C] [G] [C]
[F]
[G]
[Am] [F]
[C] And it just does that over and [F] over.
And you know, there's
claps and female backup singers, and it's all, you know, early 70s,
loungy.
But yeah, if you listen to the message, it's actually
pretty cool.
[C] And I've seen this interview with Cat Siegmans where he said, you know, he was in,
he was actually embarrassed by [Am] the song, but it was a huge hit, and he actually wrote it on a train.
He just thought of it when he was on a train and started to write it.
So here [C] it is.
[D] [C]

[Am] [F]

[G] [Am] [A]
[F] [C]
[G] [Am]
[F] [C]
So there's, you know, [B] there's embellishing and stuff that you [C] can do, just
experimenting with pull-offs and hammer-ons on those chords if you've been playing for a while.
But if not, it's a nice, another easy beginner
tune that will [F#] work out your F, C's, and G's together.
[A#] And I know a lot of people have problems with [F] that F, so
work it out, work it out, work it out, alright?
