I was entitled to the cool [G] role, I was given to know by Chief Female [Am] Art, 1517 in London,
you know, [G] years ago, moved on with cool.
I don't know why I was.
[Am] You must have a thinking why?
Because they say I always [G] maintain my cool.
Ah, so what situation was it?
[Am] Just the movements are different, you see.
[G] The movements.
Let me say that.
This heart is broken [Am] in two.
[G]
[Am] Tell her it's a case of emergency.
[G] There's a patient by the name of [Am] Gregory.
I'm [G] sorry.
[Am] Nightmare.
I decided to become a singer.
[G] Probably childhood, my brother used to tell me,
so I go to, you know, some [Am] good, so,
and I like music, you know.
Music and [G] the world, I really like language.
I mean, professionally, [Am] started with my brother,
about in 21, [G] but I mean, amateurized,
like talent shows and everything, you [Am] see, from school days.
Okay.
So.
What was the [G] first talent show, can you remember?
Yeah, it was in Queen's [Am] Theatre, on Spanish Town Road, you know,
in Kingston, there.
[G] Can you remember the year?
[Am] Oh, you don't want to remember.
I'm not here.
[G] Oh, can you tell me your age, how old you were when you entered?
Year [Am] in time, about 18.
Okay.
[G] And where did you come from?
I wanted to.
[Am] Your first competition?
Yeah.
Do you remember what you sang?
[G] Do you remember what it was that you sang?
Yeah, I sang a Sam Cooke song.
[Am] Sam Cooke?
It's a [Ab] Basilica rendition [E] now, do you?
Mm-hmm.
Ha ha ha ha!
[A] My heart aches so, [E] oh baby, [D] oh.
First single I [A] sang was a song called Another Heartache, you know.
Okay.
Love song really get my [E] interest towards music, you know.
Yeah, because that's the only thing can conquer [N] war,
don't know can win war, [A] gun can't win it, you know.
But as I tell you before, music can hold the world right down with us.
You can sing about [E] anything, you know, but I represent love.
Love song [A] will always win them because everyday people fall in love, you know.
Ha ha ha!
More than the vagabond.
Yeah, you know, true, true.
[E] Do you remember the first album that you made?
Yes, sir.
[D] [Gb] Album titled In Person, Gregory In [E] Person.
That was on the Gigi label, you know.
We're the number [B] one on that album, yeah.
Love [E] is Overdue, [B] quite a good album, that thing, you know.
[E]
Who's [B] gonna hold and [E] squeeze my time
[B] Now [E]
[B] that she's gone [E] out of my life
[B] Yeah, well, the artist that inspired [A] me was, first of all, I would say,
Sam Cooke, Wotty Sweat, [B] John Rose, Alston Ellis,
Cheryl Dunn, Finn Jett, Delroy Wilson, you know,
Dennis Brown, you know.
[E] They have unique voice [B] and sweet melody [A] and, you know, good lyrics.
[Gb] Those kind of things.
[Dbm] The music was very nice in that time, you see,
because you find that in the musical part,
the musicians concentrate more on melodies and [N] everything.
More than how they concentrated on the money that time, you know.
Now people, musicians concentrate on the money,
meaning, of course, how much song you can do in an hour or so.
So you get more feelings from the music that way.
I work it, my little, little, style by style,
from the scene from early childhood.
Looking at Frank Sinatra and those guys and some gangster movies
and all them little things, you know.
Who meets me at the corner
That year I've been you
I like working in the studio, to be frank.
I like performing live, you know.

[G] I was surprised, it was the first time when I [Gm] went to Jerusalem, you know.

So tell me about your [Am] experience in Jerusalem.
It [Dm] was a very nice different scene.
With the two nice shows and the thing [C] there, you know.
Move around.
[Bb] Went and looked at the Sepulchre,
where they say [G] Jesus come from the tomb over there.
It was very nice.
Riding a camel and all them things.
[D] I was surprised the reaction of the people, you know.
Because I didn't know that regular music would really reach that level, you know.
Because I mostly see about Jerusalem [Em] from the Bible, you know.
I didn't expect [F] to reach that far, but I reached there and saw what it was like.
It was very nice.
[C] Tell me about [N] some of the big hits that you're going to be performing tonight.
Yeah, well so far I've been doing some seized lyrics, you know.
Some lyrics that people are used to and some tracks from the new album, you know.
Here By Appointment, Differenter Scene.
Because it's a very great album, Differenter Scene.
I'd like to reach out to the people still, Differenter.
So we'll do some mix [Dm] selection, you know.
[Bb]

Well, the way I [Eb] would describe that now with Jetstar,
now with Differenter, is just a nowadays style, Differenter Scene.
The [Bb] producer, he has some rhythms,
the band has some [F] rhythms, and tell them to go create some songs for them.
[Bb] So I listen to them and create some songs for them.
I'm going to show in a Grammy, see.
I've been nominated [F] twice, you know.
And that is every singer who wants to achieve a Grammy.
[Eb] Which album did you nominate for?

Yeah, didn't know the real thing.
[C] _ _ [D] They used the music to that different scene.
So tell me about your [Am] experience in Jerusalem.
It [Dm] was a very nice different scene.
With the two nice shows and the thing [C] there, you know. _
Move around.
[Bb] Went and looked at the Sepulchre,
where they say [G] Jesus come from the tomb over there.
It was very nice.
Riding a camel and all them things.
[D] I was surprised the reaction of the people, you know.
Because I didn't know that regular music would really _ reach that level, you know.
Because I mostly see about Jerusalem [Em] from the Bible, you know.
I didn't expect [F] to reach that far, but I reached there and saw what it was like.
It was very nice. _ _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ _ _ Tell _ _ _ _ me about [N] some of the big hits that you're going to be performing tonight.
_ Yeah, well so far I've been doing some _ _ seized lyrics, you know.
Some lyrics that people are used to and some tracks _ from the new album, you know.
Here By Appointment, Differenter Scene.
Because it's a very great album, Differenter Scene.
_ _ I'd like to reach out to the people still, Differenter.
So we'll do some mix [Dm] selection, you know. _ _ _
_ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _ _
Hmm.
With your last album, when you made the Jetstar, [F] Here By Appointment,
can you describe to me the process of how you made that album?
Well, the way I [Eb] would describe that now with Jetstar,
now with Differenter, is just a nowadays style, Differenter Scene.
_ The [Bb] producer, he has some rhythms,
the band has some [F] rhythms, and tell them to go create some songs for them.
[Bb] _ So I listen to them and create some songs for them.
_ _ I'm going to show in a Grammy, see.
I've been nominated [F] twice, you know. _
And that is every _ singer who wants to achieve a Grammy.
[Eb] Which album did you nominate for?
_ _ _ An album called Private [Bb] Unconfident Child that was produced by me and my _ _ studio in Jamaica.
[F] _ _ _ _ _ [Bb] _
About two years ago.
_ [Eb] _ _ I've [F] been there more recently, yeah.
_ [Eb] _ _ _
[Bb] I'm going to go [Eb] forward after that, one [F] in Jamaica.
_ _ _ [Eb] Even this album, [Bb] Here By Appointment, you've done the [G] nomination.
Yes, that is standard.
[Gm] _
_ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
If [Abm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [G] I could live my life again, go from the scene,
_ there are things [Abm] I would do and things I wouldn't do,
like, _ _ _ you know, drugs, I wouldn't do drugs,
[Gm] and [G] I'm gone, I wouldn't do anything.
You know what I mean?
_ _ _ Go fast, you know [Dbm] what I mean?
[Abm] So, that's the truth.
That's very honest of you.
Most people just do it the [G] same. _ _ _
So it's about you being honest.
_ _ [Bb] _ _ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _ _ _
