[D] [G]
[Bm] I'm David from the Dearing Banjo Company.
I have a Good Time 17 fret tenor banjo with me today.
And this is the same as the 19 fret tenor banjo, except it's just a little bit smaller.
It has two
less frets.
[A]
It's tuned in standard tenor tuning, C, G, D, A, but you can also [G] tune it in the Irish
tenor tuning, which would be G, [D] D,
[A] A, [E] E.
So it's going to be lower in pitch than that standard [G] tenor tuning.
[D] [G]
So this banjo is currently tuned in the Irish tenor tuning.
Check out our video on the 19 fret Good Time [F#m] tenor, which is tuned in standard tenor
tuning and can compare and contrast the [D] sounds.
[F#] [D] [G]
[G] [E] [G] [E]
[G] [E] [G] [D]
[E] [D] [E]
[D] [E] [D]
[E] [D] [A]
Both our 17 fret and our 19 fret tenor banjos
come out of the factory tuned in standard tenor tuning, but you can tune either of these banjos
to the Irish tenor tuning, which is in G, D, A, E, but you will need a separate set of strings.
And so you'll need [C#] the Irish [B] tenor banjo string banjos, which you can find on [D] the site dannybanjos.com.
