All right, I have recently fallen in love with this song called Good Good Father.
The version that I like the most is by this group called House Fires, I believe.
And I was looking for the chords, even though the song is fairly easy.
I was looking up the chords, and all the chords that I found were not in the original key.
It was in the key, they were all in the key of G major.
And I think they're written for guitar, because they all said capo the second, which puts
it into the original key of A major, once you capo that on the guitar.
So this is basically for all the people who are [E] new to playing the keyboard, [A] and they
want to play it in its original key, but all the music that you're finding is in the key
of G, and the original key is A.
[N] So I want to go through and just sing a little bit of it, and show you the chords.
So the intro [A] is in A major, and then A [Dm] suspended, [A] back to A major.
So that's the rhythm of both the intro and the [D] verse.
[A]
All right.
Oh, I've heard a thousand stories of what they [Dm]
[A] think you're like
But I've [D] heard the [A] tender whispers of love in the dead of night
And [D] you tell me [A] that you're pleased [Bm] and that I'm never [A] alone
[E] All right, so, and you tell me, it [A] just repeats.
For verse one, the whole first part is just the same as the intro, like I showed you before.
But then when it goes to, and you tell me, it [D] goes to the four, which is a D major.
You tell me [A] that you're pleased
This is a one over three, which is A major with a C sharp in the bass.
That you're pleased and [Bm] that I'm
Two, which is a B minor.
Never [A] [E] alone
To the five suspended, which is an E [A] sus, E sus four.
And then it resolves to a [E] regular E.
And I do it [A] like [E] this.
I inverted it, right?
So never [A] alone
[E]
You're a good, [D] good father D
It's who you are [A] A
It's who you [Bm] are B minor
It's who [A] you [E] are
And I'm loved [D] by you
It's who [A] I am
So, [D] four, which is D, one, [A] which is A, and it goes to two, which [Bm] is B minor.
And then [E] five sus to five, which is E sus four.
It's an E sus four, to E natural.
Okay?
[C#] Then it goes back into, [A] goes directly into the verse.
Oh, I've seen many searching for answers
Far and wide, but I know
[D] [A] We're all searching for answers
Only you provide, cause [D] you know
[A] Just what we need [Bm] before we [A] say a [E] word
You're a good, [D] good father
[A] It's who you are
It's who you [Bm] are
It's who [A] you are
And I'm [E] loved by [D] you
It's who I [A] am
It's who [Bm] I am
It's who I [A] am
[Em] Cause you are
[N] Alright, so, verse, chorus, all the same.
Then when you end that chorus
[A] It's who I [E] am
Cause [D] you are perfect in all [F#m] of your ways
[Bm] You are perfect in all of [Em] your [A] ways
Oh, [N] I messed that up, sorry.
So it goes from the four
[D] Perfect in [F#m] all of your ways
To the six, [Bm] two
Perfect in all of your ways
[A] To the one, right?
And the second time, [D] it goes to the four
Perfect in all [F#m] of your ways
Six, to us
Then it [Em] goes to the five.
Alright, so, [G#] [D] that is a D major
Which is that four
Then it goes to the F sharp [F#m] minor
Which is six
Goes to the two again, which is a B [Bm] minor
Back to the [A] one, which is an A major
And it repeats, [D] four, D major
[F#m] Six, F sharp minor
And then this last time, it goes to us
It says to us, and it goes to the [E] five
[A] Five sus, [E] it's a five natural
Alright, it just repeats
[D]
Perfect in all [F#m] of your ways
[Bm]
Perfect in all of [A] your ways
You [D] are perfect in all of your [F#m] ways To [A] us
[E]
It's who [D] you are God
[F#m] Alright, [D] so that's pretty much the whole [N] song
Good, good father
