So another thing that we need to talk about is rhythm
how important it is how people struggle so much because so many different players are teaching it in such a different way because
Just like we all play
Just like we all talk differently.
We all play with them differently.
Um
There's not two people to play rhythm the same the styles are similar and
I think in that you'll have to choose your own and
Play the one that you like the most
When it comes to rhythm, I'm a I'm a very big fan of Bareilles band.
I am
That bounce a very strong bounce
[C] [G]
[C] [A] [G] [D]
[Eb] You can adjust the volume to wherever you're playing with some people play [E] really loud some people don't you know
Don't play loud if you can't hear if you can't hear the soloist you're probably [C] playing too loud, I [G] think
And so this rhythm that I was playing, you know here on the one and three here a nice bassy chord I
like fifths
You [Em] know, I'm not playing this
[G] He's
[C] [Eb] very short
[Abm] [C]
[G] [Abm] [C]
[Gb] [G] You
Another thing that's very important when you're playing with them is to how do you how do you keep time?
How do you make sure that you're not speeding up slowing down?
That's very hard for all of us.
I think the more you play
Another thing that you can hear a lot is people playing rhythm and adding all this flourishes and all this weird stuff that
If it's not it's not really fun when you're playing lead and somebody's just throwing all these things at you with the rhythm
I like it when you have a very bouncy solid rhythm section and you have
The freedom to to go wherever you want to go and they're not constantly
Telling you to do stuff, you know, so if I'm playing rhythm for somebody
I'm gonna try and do
The straightest rhythm I can possibly do without doing any fills any little things.
I mean you do have the little
[C] That's very cool to put in but you gotta be listen very carefully because they
