[A] [Dbm] [E]
[Ab] When we did the Warped Tour [F] in 2016, I'd wake up early.
We didn't [Ab] have a tour manager or anything.
It was just the four of us.
Kevin was the tour manager.
I was the tour manager.
So I'd wake up, find like a nice clean [E] bathroom or a port-a-potty.
[Gb] And I would draw [Dbm] a little map, like [E] a treasure map for everybody.
So when they woke up, they would [F] see it too.
But now we have a tour manager and they're doing these [Ab] awesome
that are like way [E] better than my hand-drawn map.
So you can see.
And then the [Dbm] X where it says production.
[E] Well, lots of stuff's getting produced there.
If you know what I'm saying.
That's the bathroom map.
[Gbm] What have we learned from Warped Tour?
I [Dm] mean, it's
That is such a good [Am] question.
I think we've learned [G] a lot about Warped Tour.
There's so many [C] different things.
I've learned that sunscreen is very important.
[Am] To stay hydrated [F] is very important.
That [E] not drinking [F] alcohol is key to survival out here.
[Db] I have learned [Bb] so many different makeup tricks.
Like so many different [G] things.
I wish I could tell every girl that I [Ab] know all these little summer tricks for makeup.
[Bb] Because last, in [Bb] 2016 when we did the Warped Tour, my makeup was like constantly
[Ab] First song in, I'm sweating everything off.
I figured it out how to get my makeup to stay while it's sweating.
And while I'm dripping, it just doesn't move.
It's very impressive.
It's a cool mist spray.
It's temperature controlled.
And [N] it's by Urban Decay.
So there you go.
There you go, ladies.
I've learned that I can go from being completely asleep to being on [Db] stage in less than an hour.
Which [C] is pretty crazy.
[F] You know?
And you too.
I mean, like
We [E] found out today at like 10am that you [Gb] play at
What time do we play?
[G] 12.50. So you're on stage in two hours and you [Ab] haven't even, you know, [C] gotten the sleep out of your eyes.
[Db] That's true.
[Ab]
[Bbm] [C] Sugar-free Red Bull.
Flushable moist wipes.
Yeah, flushable moist wipes.
[Ab] [Bb] And
This is hard.
Teach other.
[Ab] Aww.
That [Bb] just warms my heart.
We [Ab] often get, you know, home-cooked [Bb] meals from [Bbm] family and friends along our travels.
So that is really, [Bb] really helpful when we
[Abm] Sometimes we haven't had a nice home-cooked meal.
We [Bb] were just [Ab] in
Where were we?
In Connecticut.
[F] In Connecticut.
And all the Italians came [Ab] out and made, you know, pasta [Bb] and meatballs.
Every time we rolled through [Ab] Arizona, her mom comes and cooks [F] up a piece of bread.
[Gb] It's a huge morale builder.
[Ab] It's a huge morale boost.
[Bbm] [C] You know what's so [Bb] weird is when I was young
I can only speak for myself, but when I was growing up,
I would get so mad when they liked the same music I liked.
Or when they would like
I felt like they were [Bbm] copying me.
Like if I got [Bb] a rancid record and then they would listen to it, I'd be like,
Why are you listening?
That's my [Bbm] stuff.
And it's so funny because as we've gotten older, now it's [Fm] the exact opposite.
If I like something and they don't like it, I get bummed.
I'm like, How do you [D] not like this?
This is [Abm] amazing.
And they're like, I don't know.
I'm not really [Bb] feeling it.
So that's the [Gb] one thing I think growing up I'd always be like, [Ab] Stop copying me.
But thank [Gb] God you did because here we are, you know?
And [F] on a similar note, don't touch my guitar.
Yeah, that [Ab] too.
I didn't do that that much.
Well, you wouldn't know because you wouldn't be home.
I'd sneak in and [Bb] grab your guitar, teach myself something, and put it back exactly how it was.
[Ab] Wow.
I just [Fm] learned something.
I mean, obviously you didn't do that enough because you're a drummer.
Oh!
I know, but you're a great [Gb] drummer.
I'm glad I didn't let you play the guitar too much.
Otherwise you'd be [Fm] up there like
[Bb] [E] [G]
Can I just say, we've been on the road with [D] them already.
How amazing is that?
[Em] Honestly, our first tour ever was with Rancid.
We got to go [E] on tour with Green Day.
We got to go on tour with the Dropkick Murphys.
Mighty Mighty Bostones.
Mighty Mighty Bostones.
[E] Who's left?
I know.
[Em] Paul McCartney.
Bad [Bm] Religion.
Yeah, we did Bad Religion.
[E] So if we had to pick [D] three artists that we haven't toured with, you go first.
No facts.
[Bm] We did
The [Bb] Specials.
The Specials would be tight.
[Eb] The Selector.
The Selector would be [G] awesome.
[B] Madness.
Coxspar.
Coxspar.
[N] Let's just go
Joan Jett and the Black Eyed Peas.
Joan [B] Jett.
There we go.
[G] Slow [Em] down.
Yeah, don't play so fast.
[E] We did a six week European tour one time.
[G] And we'd come home and we're coming straight into a handful of [G] shows.
Rancid was playing Riot Fest and [E] we got booked.
They did some club shows around it and we were the opening band for [G] Rancid.
And Tim, you know, obviously produced all our records, seen us live a million [Bb] times.
But he hadn't seen us in a while.
And we're opening for them in Chicago [E] and him and Matt Premier are standing on the side of the stage.
And we were thinking, we're so tight.
We've just been [G] in Europe for six weeks.
I wasn't thinking that. I was.
I was [B] like, check it [Gb] out.
And then we get off stage and I'm expecting them to be like, dude, you guys are so [E] tight.
What have you been doing?
We get off stage and him and Matt Freeman are like, you guys got to [Bm] slow down.
I know you're [Bb] excited up there, but you're playing so [Ab] fast that it's [Dm] hard to grasp what's happening [Gm] up there.
And honestly, ever since then [B] we've been checking our [D] tempos.
That's the best advice.
[Gb] I mean, he's given us so many great tidbits, but [E] that one was [Bb] definitely a game changer for us as a live band.
And be yourself.
When all else fails, he's like, just be yourself, man.
Just be you.
[Gb] And people will love [C] it.
[Bb] [Cm]
[N] [C] You know, it starts with love.
It does.
Let love be your foundation.
Let wisdom be your guide.
But, you know, it starts, what is that song?
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.
Yeah.
Let there be peace on earth [Bb] and let it begin with me. That's [Cm] how.
