I thought I would break down the outro for Glorious.
[N] It's a song that I play at a lot of different conferences and if you noticed I've posted
it several times but I keep playing it so I'll keep posting it.
But I get a lot of questions asking about the outro and the pattern that I use or how
to play the outro.
So I thought I would kind of break that down.
Just to clarify, if you're looking for the original Chris Coleman feel, this is not a
breakdown of that.
This is just a very simple pattern that I use all the time.
You'll see it come out in my playing all over the place.
But I thought I would share because it's easy and really practical.
So what I'm going to do is play the basic pattern as I play in the song and then I'm
going to explain kind of how I break it up to fit the outro.
[Eb]
So now basically to talk about how I place that in the song, it's a lot easier just to
feel it than it is to really count it out and explain it.
The outro you could [G] argue that it's in 7 or play measure of 4, measure of 3.
On the track actually just click just stays on a full 4 click and you play through it.
But basically it's easier for me to understand the spacing.
So the way I just played that, each crash represents a punch in the song.
So the punches are done in those increments of 3 and then there's a space in between.
So basically I do 3 revolutions of that pattern and then there would be 4 singles in between [N] each one.
And so if you remember that's the outro does that.
It does that for the majority except for the turnaround where it goes.
But so basically in between each one of those is just 4 singles and then you could go back
to that pattern to catch each one of those hits.
[E] So what I'm going to do is play that outro really slow with the song.
It's going to sound kind of weird because it's warped.
But that way you can hear how it sounds slowed down.

So you get the basic idea.
[N] Now I also get asked, people say, add a couple comments, oh that's great, metric modulation
or doing whatever.
And yes I am playing something off but what you find is that if you want to play off that
rhythm, play off those hits, which on the track Chris Coleman does some crazy stuff,
maybe the second time you go through that [Ab] outro just play that rhythm straight through.
Instead of breaking it up and catching the hits, just play straight over that.
Because eventually it will come back around where you're back on the hits.
But for one pass it will sound like you're off of the hits.
So that's basically the way I do it.
Again I hope that helps.
Post a [F] comment or a question and I'll try to clarify some more things.
But hopefully that gives you a track to run on.
That's the basic pattern.
And again as you see I fill those in different ways.
And actually the first time, the first pass I don't do that pattern.
I just basically hit with those crashes and do like a pickup.
You know just
You know whatever.
And just try to catch different accents just to [Ab] spice it up.
And then the second pass is when I really heavily go into that pattern.
So I hope that [B] helps.
Again post any comments or questions.
Hit me up.
I'd love to be able to help if I can in any other way.
