I just want to tell you, [N] I wrote this song with two of my dearest friends, Liz Rose and Hilary Lindsey one day.

[G] And so Liz was making breakfast and I was sitting at the table talking about what we wrote the night before and what we're going to write today.
And I said, I want to write a song called Girl Crush.

[Db] just went [E] on with the list and other songs.
[N] And I could tell that Liz was like, we only had like two hours to write that morning before Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlappman were coming over for a little bit of time to write.
So we had like from nine to eleven to write.
And Hilary came down and she picked up an old Chris Stapleton [Bb] guitar, as we found out later on, and Chris's guitar.
[N] And I said, Hilary, I want to write a song called Girl Crush.
And she said, oh, and I swear to God, she sang the first four lines of the song exactly as they are.
And then she looked up at us and she said, you mean like that?

Just like that, Hilary.
