[Bb] Welcome to Eric Blackmon Music.

[Dm] [G] [Gm] [Am]
[Bb] [Dm] [Am] [G] Hi [F] [G] and welcome to my tutorial on how to play
George Michael Careless Whisper chords
on guitar.
The guitar is tuned standard E
A D G B E and the first thing we'll do
is take a good close-up look at the chords.
Our first chord
is D minor 7 [Dm] played this way.
I'm borrowing
everything from the A string down at fret 5
and I'm gonna bring in my middle finger to the B string
fret 6 and my ring finger to the D string
fret 7.
I'm strumming that from the A string.
That's D minor 7.
[G] Next
is G minor 7 played this way [Gm] and really all I'm after
are the high strings down here.
Now if you want a bass note
you can bring your thumb over and hold down the third fret
on the low E.
I'm muting out the A string.
[Bb] That's G minor 7.
Next
is B flat major 7.
With this chord I'm borrowing everything from the A string down
at the first fret bringing in my middle finger
to the G string second fret.
My
ring finger to the D string third fret
and my little finger to the B string
third fret and I'll strum that chord from the A string.
The last chord is A minor 7
played this [Am] way.
For this one I'm holding down the B string
at the first fret with my index finger and holding down
the D string at the second fret
and strumming from the A string.
If the E gets in there it's no real problem.
[D] Now as far as the strumming pattern goes I'm strumming this way.
[F]
[G] [Gm] [Am] [Bb]
[Dm] [Am]
I've got a 16th note strumming pattern going
like [Gb] this [E] and I'm muting [G] the strings when I play the chord by just touching the strings.
Now I'm going to squeeze on certain strums
like this.
[Dm]
So that was [F] down
up, down, up, down.
And then I'll go to the next chord.
[Gm] Down, up,
down, up, down.
Okay so I'm squeezing when I do that
emphasizing stroke [A] [Gm]
like that.
So here's how I'm going to play it.
[Dm] [E]
[Dm] [Gm] [Am]
[Bb] [Dm] [Am]
[E] [F]
[Gm] [E] [Am] [Bb]
[Am]
Now you may have noticed when I got down here to the G minor 7
I went [A] [Bb] down, [Gm] up, down.
[Em] And then I went [C] to my A minor 7, [Em] strummed it,
then [Dm] restarted my strum on the B flat major 7.
[C]
Here we go.
[D] [F]
[Gm] [Am] [Bb]
[Dm] [Am]
[G] Now let me show you that little riff.
Here's our [Am] riff.
[G] [Am] In order to play our riff
we're going to go to fret 5, hold down the high E string at fret 5
and hammer on and pull off fret 8.
We'll do the same thing on the B string
[E] and [C] then as we move down to the G string
we're going to hammer on and pull off fret 7.
And we'll do the same [G] thing
on the D string.
[Dm] And then we'll go back to our D minor 7 chord.
Here we [C] go.
[Dm]
With a little practice you'll speed it up
[C] and [Dm]
then we'll [C] go back into our strumming.
[D] [F] Well [Dm] alright, that's it for now.
Thanks for stopping by
and have a great day.
[Gm] [Bb] [Am] [Bb] [Am]
[Dm] [F] [Gm] [Bb]
[C] [Bb] [Am]
[Dm] [Gm]
[Am] [Bb] [Am]

[Bb] [Dm] [Am] [G] Hi [F] [G] and welcome to my tutorial on how to play

on guitar.
The guitar is tuned standard E

is take a good close-up look at the chords.

is D minor 7 [Dm] played this way.
