[A] We're here on the set for my [D] video for Listen to the Man, which [C#] is a song off the album.
[D] And yeah, it's [A] all stationary.
[D] [C#] The last time we [D] were together was Budapest and [A] there was a cast of 70, I think it was.
And today there's two.
There's just me [D] and Ian McKellen.
[C#m] [D] When I was asked to come and do this, I checked up on his other [E] songs and was immediately taken by it.
And indeed by his very cool personality and [Bm] I thought it would be funny if I [A] came on and capered in the [B] background of his shot, basically.
Taking it in turns.
Even on the last one, you don't sing that together?
Just the woes.
[A] You sing together?
Yes.
You don't have to be there.
You don't [F#] have to be scared.
You don't need a plan.
What you want to do [D] is
Listen to the man.
It's [F#] love you and me.
[D] Easy.
I like music videos and I like [F#m] Shakespeare and [D] Chekhov and musicals and [E] pantomime.
And I've been [D] involved in all those art forms, if that's what you care to call them.
It's fun not to get [E] absolutely stuck down in just one thing.
Because there's [A] so much to learn.
[Bm] It's not [A] like a normal shoot at all.
Very friendly indeed.
Rob Brandon, the director, makes sure of [B] that.
This will be my fourth music video with Rob.
We did Cassio, Budapest, [A] the lyric video for Blame It On Me and now this.
And of course he shot the artwork for the album.
So that's five times I've had to put up with Rob.
Very demanding work, this.
It may look easy to you.
[Bm] [F#] [F#m] You [B] were telling me I'm going to get hot.
And I was [C#] going, no, I need layers.
[D] I'm boiling.
My two biggest fans have come to join the shoot. Competition [A] winners.
[D] It's a quick shoot.
It's all happening in a few hours, with lunch in between.
And that's lovely.
[E] The main problem for me has been [A] having to mime.
Not actually singing, you see.
[B] And lip syncing has never been one of my talents.
Though I think after today I might be able to put it up on my CD.
It's great [E] working with Ian.
He's lovely.
He's really, really nice.
And it's been a relaxed day as well.
That's the nice thing.
[A] [E] [A]
[E] [Am] [N]
And Gord and I start touring.
When is it?
No chance.
Now I'm done.
