The combination of his astonishing technique, deep blues feeling, and ability to make any
kind of material convincing, _ quickly established him as a major player and as a mentor to young
musicians around the globe.

_ It is my pleasure to present this year's Maria Fisher Founders Award to nine-time Grammy
Award winner, _ the world-renowned, _ crowd-thrilling sensation, _ _ _ Mr.

unpredictable, but he was truly a genius _ in his approach to life and his approach to music.

I know he would have been very, very proud of the things that he's accomplished in his name.
