[E] Garret Barry's Jig is the name of this tune, and Garret Barry was a famous piper,
he used to travel around Ireland in the late 1800s, early 1900s,
and somehow this tune ended up with his name, I don't know if it's a tune he wrote,
or just a tune he used to play a lot, or maybe it's a tune that somebody else wrote in his honour,
I really don't know, but it's a lovely old jig, and it goes like this,
we're going to start on the D string, and go over to the C on the bass string,
then we come [D] back and [G] hold the G, then we move up [A] to the open A string,
make [D] the same move, only one string over, so we started off, here we're playing,
this time we hold the C, and then the next bar, [D] D, C, A,
so here we are at the advanced tutorial for Garret Barry's Jig,
the main difference is going to be a few extra rolls and sliding into notes,
but there's also a different ending that I'm going to give you,
that is a little unusual, but I enjoy it a lot,
anyway we go back to the start, we'll start from the start,
and I put a roll on that G there, and another roll on the C,
