So what I'm going to show you today is the G scale on a diatonic or button accordion.
This is a Hohner panther in the key of G.
And that simply means that this outer row is G, or sol in Spanish.
The center row is C, and this inner row is F.
So you'll find the F-sharp of the G scale in this first row.
You'll find the B-flat of the F scale in this inner row.
So I'm going to show you the G scale over two rows.
And every time I press a G, so G, A, B, C, D, E, F-sharp, G, the bellows will move in.
Everything else will go out.
So I'm going to show you at a regular speed.
I'll play the first octave and the second octave.
And then I'll do a close-up and go slow.
So we'll start by going [G] in with G.
[F#] [C]
[G]
So the lower octave.
[F#] [G] The
[F#] [G] [E] higher [G] octave.
[D]
[D#] [F#] [G] And then together again.
[F#] [Cm]
[G] And now let me do a close-up, and I'll show you without covering up any other buttons.
So in on the G.
[A] Out.
[B] [D]
[E] [F#m] [G] [B] Out.
[D] [G#] In.
[G] [A] [C] [F#m] [G] [D]
[C]
[Am] [G] [F#] [Gm] [C]
[G] [F#]
[G] [D#]
Now if you practice the G scale, then playing songs in the key of G will become a lot easier.
And so when you first put on your accordion, you want to go over some of the scales.
Just practice that.
Go slow at first.
Go up and down the [C] scale.
[Gm] [F#] [G]
[F#] [G] And [N] just keep on doing that.
And after a while, you'll recognize that songs in the scale of G, or the key of G, sorry,
you'll hear fragments of the scale in those songs.
[C] [Bm] [E] I can play that going out, [F] [E] just like the scale.
Or I can play it pushing in using these buttons.
[C] And these are the first four notes of La Piedrera.
[G] [D]
[G#] So keep on practicing the G scale, and those songs will be a lot easier to play.
And then you'll notice that chunks of songs will be found in other songs.
So another song is, I think it's called Rosa Anna.
Anna Rosa.
I don't remember at this moment.
[G] And
[C] [F] you'll see a chunk of that in La Piedrera.
So keep on practicing the G scale, and those songs will come easily.
