Flight of the Tuba Bumblebee - Canadian Brass chords
Start Jamming...
About six years ago, we were challenged to a contest by the imminent flautist James Galloway.
He claimed that he could play Flight of the Bumblebee faster than we could.
Now he played it on his flaut in 58 seconds, and then about three years ago Chaka was timed on CBS television
at 52 seconds, which clearly establishes Chaka's world's record holder for the fastest flight of the bumblebee.
Now that probably should have been the end of it.
But Chaka felt that it could be much faster, and of course no one else did, but he really had in mind to break the 40 second barrier.
It's a little bit like the four minute mile.
No one had ever really thought that anyone could play it that fast, but he kept working on it.
And this spring in San Francisco, Entertainment Tonight came to see how well Chaka had done, and he played it in an unbelievable 38 seconds.
So he's going on and on, and no telling how fast it will be tonight.
Okay, since Chaka holds the world's record, he is entitled to a fanfare to be played.
So we'll play the fanfare and then time Flight of the Bumblebee.
