Hi, my name is Mary Spender and in this video I am simply on the hunt for a suitable practice amp from Orange.
[B] [E]
[F#m] [C#m] [B] [A]
[Em] Okay, [A] so I have been thinking about getting [G] a smaller [D] amplifier than my 2x12 cab and Rocker [Em] 15 head
just to [A] either be able to take to a hotel room [G] if I'm actually remaining in the UK
[D] or to have in my living room if I just [Em] actually want to get out of the studio and [G] just jam a little bit
without having to lug a 2x12 [Em] cab.
So, first up is the Crush Mini.
Now, this [A] is maybe the second generation, so I [E] do actually have the first one already
but this one can [Em] actually power a [A] speaker, so you could actually plug it into the 2x12 and it would work.
But the reason I've had this before is because it's super, [Em] super useful when you're backstage [D] at a show
and you just want to have a little [G] warm-up and it's really, really tiny so you can fit it [D] in any of your, like, suitcase or [Em] handbag or something.
[C#] But it also [G] has a tuner.
[Dm] Now, if your pedalboard is already on [C] stage and you're an [Em] idiot like me and don't have two
[G] or even a clip-on, this comes in handy.
[Em] I love the fact that it has [D] the Orange Classic styling and although it can [Em] be battery-powered in [D] here, you can also [Bm] plug it in using a power [C] supply.
[Em] That's where the speaker goes in, [F#] there's an aux in too, and you can have a little mini jack for headphones
if [A] you still have headphones that have a mini jack.
But otherwise, it's a very handy little piece of kit and very affordable too.
[Em]
So, [A] let's hear how it sounds.
[Em] [C]
[Em] [D] [Em]
[Am] [Em] [Bm] [Cm]
[Dm] [Em]
[G] [Bm] [G] It's so tiny.
Next up we have the Crush [E] 12 and this is a single-channel amp, very, [Em] very basic.
If you want to [G] change it from clean to distortion, you just crank up the [D] overdrive.
But otherwise, it's very, very [Em] simple.
There's [G] no tuner or anything on here, but you can use headphones.
[F#m] [C]
[E] [C] [E]
[A] [D]
[E] [Em]
[A] [C]
[E] [D]
[D] [B]
[D] [E]
[F#m] [G] Next up, we have the Crush 20 RT and this has [C] two channels, [Em] so you can select between clean [E] and dirty and it has a [Em] nice touch of reverb [D] too.
You kind of have everything here because you've also got the [Em] tuner, you have treble, middle, [E] bass, gain.
[C] Obviously, clean controls the clean channel [E] volume, dirty controls [C] the dirty [Em] channel volume.
Little [E] aux cable in, headphone out.
[C]
Yeah, [Em] 20 watts.
[Am]
[G] [F]
[Em]
[D] [Em] [D]
[Em] [E]
[B] [E]
[A] [E] [Em]
[A] [A#m] [E]
[Em] Last [E] but not least, we have [Bm] the Crush 35 [Em] RT, [D] which is a little bit heavier, mainly [C] because it has a 10-inch speaker
as opposed to an 8-inch speaker that the 20 RT has.
It still has the tuner, it still has all [Am] the same controls, but it does also have an effects loop.
[Em] [Am]
[Em]
[C] [Em]
[Am] [G]
[Am]
[A] [B] [D]
[Em] [A] [B] [Bm]
[B] [G] [B]
Having gone through and played all [Am] four, there are definite uses to each of them.
[D#] However, the one that really struck a chord with [F] me, no pun intended, is the 20 RT.
It has everything that [E] you need.
It has the reverb, it has the tuner, and it's still light and portable.
So, if I'm going to choose one, [Em] it's that one.
[D] Let me know what you [Bm] think in the comments below.
Maybe you might [Em] have different uses or different [D] reasons for each [Bm] of these practice amps.
[Em] But I hope you enjoyed this video and if you haven't already,
