Hey, what's up everybody Shannon Wheeler here on YouTube, but with another fiddle tutorial
This one I'm doing Methodist preacher.
Somebody requested it on one of my videos to
See if I could try to do a tutorial on it, which that's what I'm trying to do
Is I'm trying to do a daggone tutorial on it.
I know I'm not that good at it
You know, but I'm trying and that's that's all it matters
But uh, you know
I'm gonna play the song for you at full speed and then I'm gonna try to break it down for you
as slow as I can and
You know just check it out.
If you like it, you know, give me a comment on it
If you don't like it, give me a comment on it for something that I can do different to please the YouTube world out there
Give me a comment on it and um
You know, so check this out and I hope it helps you out
[G]
You
All right right now I'm gonna slow down
Methodist preacher for you
Do it a little bit more slower and see if see if you can capture what I'm doing
And I've got a couple
variations that you can do on the on the hop on the high G part that it goes to and
you know, like I say I got this version from
Stewart Duncan off of one of butch bald assari's CD and I'm not trying to copy Stewart
It's just a killer version and he just he pulls so much good tone out of it and just cuts it.
So
You know, I'm not I ain't saying it's just like his version but you know it that's where that's what inspired me to play it
this way, so
So just check this out right here.
I'm gonna slow it down just a little bit
All
[D] [G]
[Em]
[G]
right, that's the first part on what I'm doing there is the
more blue, you know, it's kind of like a real bluesy slide like a
Instead of just going
You know, I throw in a little it's just kind of like a B to a B flat and back to it
Just a little slide there
So, um, let's go over the the high part with the with the high G so I'm gonna do it real slow for you
[C] Okay, [Cm] [E] [D] [G]
[Bm] [E] [G]
[Db] so again [C] slower
[Em]
[E] [G]
Here's uh, here's a little variation that you can do on that on the high part you can do like a
And [Am] [G]
you can also do a
[D]
[C] just one big long one big [Fm] long [G] drag of the bow
[D] Okay.
[G] All right.
This is the the next part where it's got the little the little hop to it
so all that is is uh
[D] [G]
[Bb] you [G] can do it like
[A] [G] You could do a
Grab
[Bb] it and just [G] burn it up
So that's pretty much, uh, the Methodist preacher and um
I'll have some more videos coming soon.
I've been kind of slacking on the videos a little bit, but um
Hopefully you'll check them out.
And if you got any more requests out there, feel free to just shoot me an email.
Um, or just
