Hey, what's up everybody?
This is Daquan Bowens back with another lesson and today we're doing
gospel chords and runs in the key of F sharp.
[Bb] [Eb] [Gb]
[Ebm] Alright, so here's the move in F sharp.
So
we have, I'm starting on the one.
[Gb]
We have this F sharp major triad with a drop two voicing.
I'm not going to explain that because I do in previous videos.
You can check it out.
I invert to this F sharp chord.
[Ab] Then I go to A flat major.
A flat diminished.
[D]
I have this D
[E] nine [D] flat five.
So I have D F sharp A [Gb] flat A A natural excuse me C E [E] and A flat.
[Ab] Then I go to this B major nine.
[B] I have the one, [Db] [Eb] the nine, [Ebm] the third, fifth, the seven.
I have another seven under here and this is [Db] over C sharp.
[Gb] [D]
[Fm] Then I have the F diminished chord.
F A [F] flat [B] B D [F] F A flat.
Then I'll end [Eb] on this pentatonic run in F sharp.
[Ab] [Ebm]
Alright,
so I'll do it one more [Db] time.
[Ab]
[Ebm]
Alright, so in my left hand I'm playing the scale,
the F sharp scale descending, [Gb]
[Ab] [Gb] [Eb] but I'm playing the note under the melody note in my left hand.
Hope that [Gbm] makes sense.
[F] [D] So I'm playing an under it.
[Gb]
[Bb] [B]
[F]
Alright, so on my left hand I'm playing
the F sharp major scale descending.
[Eb] [Ab]
[Gb] Alright, so when I'm playing that, the top of the chord
[D] is the scale and [B] I'm playing the [F] note under it [Ebm] to create dissonance.
[Ab]
[Db] [Eb]
Alright,
and when you put them two together you get this sound.
[Ab]
[Db] [Ebm]
Alright, now I'll go to [Dm] this D major
over C major.
[G] It's a pretty chord.
[C] So I have C G E [Gb] and I have F [D] sharp A [Dm] D and [B]
I'll move on this
chord.
This move in E.
[Bbm] [A] [E]
[B] Okay, so I have E [Bbm] D flat and B flat.
[A] I have [Eb] A E flat [E] and I'll end with
this E major.
Then I'll go to D [D] major.
Then [Db] I'll go to C sharp major.
Then [G] I go to E minor 9.
[E]
Then I'll go to [Eb] this E flat minor 9, [Db] but I'll play a C sharp major triad in root position.
Then I'll go back to [D] that D 9 flat 5.
Then I'll [B] play that B major 9.
[D]
I'll resolve it to that
diminished.
Then I'll go here.
[Fm] [Ab] So I'll play an A [D] flat D C and F.
This represents [Bb] B flat.
[G] This represents my E flat chord.
So [G] I have G [Em] C sharp B and [Eb] F.
[C]
[Ab] This represents my A flat.
[Gb] So I [Gb] have F sharp C [F] B flat F.
[Ebm] Then I'll play an E flat minor over the [C] same chord.
[Ab] [Ebm] I'll play this which is still like a B major 9.
I'm just adding extra voicings,
extra notes in the [Gb] voicing.
So [Abm] this
[Ab]
is [Db] on C sharp.
[F]
Add the F diminished and I'll end it on the [Gb] 1.
That's [B] [Gb] it.
[Ab] [Gb]
[D] [Eb] [Ab]
[Ebm] [Dm]
[D]
[C] [Ab] [Fm]
[Gb] [B] [Gb]

F A [F] flat [B] B D [F] F A flat.
Then I'll end [Eb] on this pentatonic run in F sharp.
[Ab] [Ebm]
Alright,
so I'll do it one more [Db] time.
[Ab]
[Ebm]

[C]
