We're gonna take some time ask them a few [E] questions first off

Tell us what it's been like.
I [E] mean you guys have been [B] together for almost 30 [Am] years or more.

Can you but we started it?

_ _ _ _ [B] About a shot him back when I wanted to I'd have been out of jail _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Em] Now I know you guys did a [A] great thing you guys met [Am] the winners of the battle [E] band yeah
So I mean did you guys have a [Am] start something like that?
I mean [E] when you guys got started out or man
We play every dirt floor
You know, we started [Em] it same old story like everybody has to do you [A] got to pay the dues, you know
I [G] think your band I was in we never won

_ _ _ [A] We were just joking on the way over [E] here there was one place that was [A] so nasty that we [A] had a
Fake [E] blowing up the amp so we could [Am] get out of the gig _

There's been a big [D]
resurgence here lately of [Bm] a lot of bands from the 70s and 80s that have kind [Am] of gotten back together
You know [E] kind of restart and going back to the roots.
I got you [Abm] guys never really [A] stopped _
[Bb] Tell [B] me how that's successful for you guys.
[Dm] We found tolerance with [G] each other
You know, we're able to [D] this band lasted longer than our [Am] marriages, you know

_ [B] _ _ _ _ _ _ [Am]
Sacrificed but _ [Bm] we actually have been out here 30 years

Cities a [Bm] year over a hundred _ _
Okay, and we're headed to Hawaii [A] next week.

I was [Em] just gonna ask [E] you guys that because I was looking at your tour schedule
[Bm] July _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 4th in [Am] Hawaii.
Yeah _
_ [E] Marine base there in Hawaii.
Yeah, [D] that's gonna be [G] unbelievable
Lot of bands ten bands [Eb] and we're closing the shows out there.
Oh, that's gonna be awesome

Just go over there and [E] play for our military.

Okay now [B] I was reading a little bit about your guys's new album that you brought out 2004 [E] drive train
Tell me a little bit about [Am] that album and how that's a little [Gb] different than what you guys
_ _ Beat [Am] up
_ _ [A] It's the it's the ultimate [Bm] rock and roll record.
Yeah, [F] it's greasy loud and [E] proud
And that's what makes it.
[Dm] Yeah, it's just a good slab of meaty [E] rock after all these [Dm] years
You know, we didn't really want to we don't want people to [A] think we'd kind of like gotten lighter as we got older whatever
So we stepped it up.
It's [E] it's bigger than [Gb] any 38 special [Am] record.
Oh great
We [Em] left all the room mics on it's really a lot of chaotic [E]
massive, you know _ live sound, you [E] know _
[Am] It's stuff that's gonna be a lot more like what [E] you're gonna put on it.

_ _ _ [A] _ Now I was gonna ask you so [E] we're gonna hear some stuff [A] off the new absolutely

_ Your drive [E] train and some of the older stuff [D] too
_ [Am] It's everything you want to hear through the [Bm] history of the band
I mean it gets right we even put [Am] a medley together of secondary [E] song from [Gb] movies and things, you know people that [Am]

You know be disappointed [Ab] if we didn't play, okay, you know teacher [A] teacher from the [Am] movie teacher
_ [E] Pieces of that [Bm] together and Donnie and I we [Am] actually have a little portion [E] of the show we come out
Well, I shouldn't give it [A] away, but we come [Am] out and sit on stools and do a slide [B] guitar thing
Oh, just you know for one [Am] thing.
So that's gonna be all that stuff is [E] yeah showbiz

_ [E] _ Okay now big question I [Am] got cuz I you know
I was researching you [E] guys on the internet checking stuff out and I found a website that says
Lindsay Lohan has 38 special on her iPod.
I heard about [G] that.

_ _ We found it's kind of strangely enough
We've had a lot of a lot of actresses through the years have liked the band Julie Roberts big fan
Our manager, you know, send them a note said they're welcome to come anytime [A] bring their entourage and you know
all their little [E] little baby dogs _ _
_ _ We've been a fortune blessed we sold [B] about 16 million records
[A] _ We got a lot of fans out there
_ _ _ Well, the [D] beauty is is that you know, I teach you were talking about teacher teacher I teach ninth grade kids
Oh, yeah, and and a lot of these kids are out here today [Ebm] and they not only [Am] know your music
But they're into your oh we see it.
That's what's great.
We watched we played in Orlando the other night a couple weeks ago
Three three about twelve year old boys were out there and [G] every song they were like

[G] you bet well that's [E] obviously great for you guys have a long-standing
_ _ [G] Relationship together, you know [Am] be able to rock that hard for that
It's [B] a celebration of the brotherhood that we have and we [Bm] bring everybody in there and we bring we bring the party [E] and it really is
the camaraderie of [A] all these years and it's a _ _
Polished and it's a clean and everybody come on and sing along
[D] _ Now speaking of lyrics real quick last question
I'm gonna ask you [D] about a lot of your songs have to [B] do with love lost love hard love
What happened to you guys?

Yeah, a lot a lot of truth and all those songs a lot of you know
If I'd been the one was a girl actually, I probably shouldn't say this but she [A] was from around this area
Okay, [B] and I had a long-distance kind of romance with and she went and got married, you know [G] that song
It's parked that kind of so it's all [A] those things, you know
[E] But you say you're a schoolteacher, right?
Yes Yeah
I mean for that band that just won [D] today one thing I need to really think about and I'm really a believer in this [B] get that
Education first for you pursue what [A] we're doing here.
This is a tough business here for sure.
