[B] Hey, I'm going to teach you how to play Everlasting God by Brenton Brown.
This song is in B, but I'm capoing, or at least this is where I'm playing it.
I'm capoing on the fourth fret, and I'm playing in G.
You can get these chord charts from my website.
You can get the capoed chord charts.
This is what I'm playing right now.
And you can get the open chord charts in B if you want to have a bass player, keyboard
player or something play with you.
So this song's pretty simple.
The intro just kind of goes between a G and G suspended, but it's got this cool little
walk up thing that it does.
It sounds like this.
[E] [B]
And that follows the melody of the verse.
So what we're doing here is all of this is happening, if you play a G, and I use the
four finger version of the G.
So we're walking up [Db] the A string here, second string from the top.
We're walking up.
So you want to hit the bass string here, [Ab] the top string on the [B] third fret, which is G.
And then do a [Eb] hammer on.
[Db] And so you're doing a hammer on on [G] the A string from [Db] zero to two.
[Eb]
And [Db] then open, [Abm] two, [E] three.
And that's your G suspended.
And then walk that back down.
[Eb] Three, [Db] two, [Gbm] open.
[G] And then [B] that's the third fret on the bottom, on the low E string.
[Em] And so you can kind of strum it and play it and stay in this G finger position.
And so you hit the bass and you just [B] kind of hit these, play on these low strings here.
And that's your hammering on with your index finger.
And then you play it with [E] your middle finger.
[B]
And so you pretty much keep that up through the verse.
So it goes.
This is the intro.
This is all on G.
And [E] then on this part, we're going to C.
You go C, [Abm] E minor,
[Gbm] D.
[E]
[Abm] [Gb] And back to C.
[E] [Abm]
[Ab] You're [Gb]
on the D.
And then back to [Db] G at you are the everlasting [B] God.
Goes to C on God.
And [E] then it'll go everlasting God, E minor.
The everlasting [Abm] God.
You do not faint.
Fainting you.
On won't, it goes to C.
[E] You won't grow [Abm] weary.
[B]
Back to G again.
You're the defender of the weary.
C.
Comfort those in need is [E] E minor.
Comfort those in [Abm] need.
You lift us up [E] on the wings.
That's C.
You can go to a D for like, [Gb] like eagles.
[E] So [Gb] wings [Abm] like [E] eagles.
[B]
Then you're back to that little intro part.
That's pretty much the whole thing.
It just kind of repeats parts over and over again.
I hope this was helpful.
Again, you can get chord charts off my website.
And those should help you [Bb] out.
And I think I have an acoustic version of me playing through it.
And so you can play to that.
And it'll help you practice.
And it's in the same key.
So you can get the strumming patterns down and get the timing down.
Thanks.
