So when I was a kid and they came to Christmas holidays, which is the summer holidays, of course
Very weird to get around and having lived over in England for a long time and
often going home for Christmas and step off the plane having been
Rubbed up in a scarf and everything and and arrive and just hit this wall of heat [C] at Perth Airport
[N] Anyway, it's hot there in the summer and for Christmas and me
I have two brothers and a sister and
[G] Me my mom and dad and siblings [A] used to cram into this Peugeot 504 with [G] no air conditioning
windows down sticking to [N] the seats all sweaty with body boards and
fishing tackle and camping gear [G] sort of up to our heads and and
We would head to the coast and that would usually be about a 12 hour drive sitting up with your knees up to your ears
[N]
And and
We could never agree or very rarely agree on what to listen to
This is the 90s.
It was still the days of cassettes
I think at that time and my sister would want Mariah Carey and my one of my brothers would want poison and
[G] MC Hammer and my dad would want Eric Clapton or Pink Floyd or whatever and
And then my mom who [N] was always the diplomat would say why don't we listen to Bruce Springsteen record
Which
Is a very underrated Bruce Springsteen album, I think and and partly I think it's because of the
incredibly 80s
production on it, which I actually quite like but
It's not everybody's cup of tea
Anyway, I forgot about this record and for many [G] years for about 15 years and then
my brother [F] Joel and I were in
in his car and we did this same journey to the coast and
[G] He put on a CD because it's a it was 15 years later
into [Ebm] the end of the console and
It was tunnel of love by [Eb] Bruce Springsteen and because we [G] used to listen to it all the time all these lyrics
I remembered all the lyrics but being an adult they [N] meant a whole new thing to me and
Recently the red clay halo and I did this amazing
Project we went into a into a studio and recorded direct to vinyl
And much like Jack White does with his Bergman records things
Maybe you don't know that and anyway, we were it was terrifying
We did it and we did four covers of songs that inspired the latest record Dear River
So we've sold out unfortunately of the of the EP
They were released from records to date and download them from our band campaign
But you can also hear it right now one of them
This is tougher than the rest by Bruce
[C] If you listen really carefully, you might be able to hear Chris TT singing some back vocals in the background backstage
Well
[F]
You're all dressed [G] up
I've been watching [F] you for a while.
Maybe you've been [G] watching me, too
So [C] somebody
Let somebody's [G] heart in
And if you're [F] looking for
[C] Some girls they want to have some
Awesome
[G] I'm there.
I'm [F] some girls like sweet talking [G] Romeo
