EASY UKULELE CHORDS FOR BEGINNERS! chords

[N] Hey everyone, my name is Joni and today I am going to teach you the most important
chords you will need in beginning how to play the ukulele.
I've been playing the
ukulele for about like eight or nine months and I have picked it up super
quick.
I could play like 15 songs or something like that in a week and it was
super simple so if you're having trouble learning or if you are just looking to
learn [C#] how to play it is [A] a great instrument.
I love playing the ukulele
because it looks impressive that you know how to play an instrument but
secretly you know that your friends don't.
It was super easy to learn so that
is one of the upsides of learning how to play the ukulele.
So today I'm [C#] just going to
teach you a few chords that you'll need for like pretty much every single song
that you're going to play.
There are a lot of different chords out there
obviously but [F] these specific chords will help you [N] in getting started.
And I will
link some songs down below that have the same exact chord progression with the
notes that I teach you today and [C#] yeah and then I'll probably sample some at the end of the video.
So [B] yeah, hope you guys enjoy and let's get started.
[E] And before I [G] move on I cannot stress how important it is to tune your ukulele.
If it's not tuned it's going to sound kind of bad and you don't want [N] that to happen.
So yeah, tune your ukulele.
There are plenty of ukulele tuners.
You can even buy a ukulele tuner.
But yeah, there's some online that you can use.
Always tune your ukulele.
And it's very important especially when you first get your ukulele because it goes out of tune like every three seconds because the head is still adjusting to the strings [C#] being tightened.
The strings are adjusting to the strings being tightened.
And so yeah, over time [D#] it won't be as like [B]
[N] vigorous to tune.
I mean you should tune every time you play but
most of the time you can get away with it [B] towards in the long run.
Okay, [C#] so the first chord that you need to learn in that is in pretty much every single [G] song is C.
C is super simple.
It's just the third fret.
So [C#] these are frets in case you didn't know.
[D#] So yeah, [D] it is the third fret and it is the very last string of the third fret.
And some people use the ring finger but I like to use my middle finger and I'll explain that later.
So yeah, you just put your middle finger or [G#] your ring finger on [B] that right there and it should sound like this.
[N] The next chord you're going to need is G.
And this one is the harder one out of the rest of the ones but yeah.
So the reason why I use my middle finger is because I feel like it's [B] easier to transition from C to G which [D] is what you will do for songs.
Because I just slide my middle finger [C] across the frets and place my fingers on.
So instead of having my ring finger like this [D] and then having it go like this.
I mean you can [B] if you want but I just find that easier.
[Am] [N] So yeah, G is your middle finger on the last string of the second fret [B] and your pointer finger on the second string [E] on the second fret and your ring [B] finger on the third fret and the third string.
And it should sound like [G] this.
Yeah!
[N] And the next chord you're going to need is A minor which is super easy as well.
It is just your middle finger on the second fret and the first string.
So [Am] it should sound like this.
And [C] then the very last chord you're going to need is F which is just A minor and then you put your pointer finger on the third string of the first fret.
And it should sound like [F] this.
[N] And that is literally all the chords you need to learn to know like 5 songs.
No, to know like 10 songs.
And yeah, it's that simple.
A song that everyone knows on those chords is I'm Yours by Jason Mraz.
And you've probably seen a lot of covers of the ukuleles and that's because that's usually the first song, for some reason, that's usually the first song people learn on the ukulele because it is super simple and easy.
So yeah, it's that exact chord progression that I taught.
So let's just sample it.
And I apologize in advance.
I'm not that good of a singer so I'm [Bm] just singing it to show you how like
yeah.
[C]
[G]
[Am] [F]
[C] [G]
[Am] [F] Doing some more than I can [N] say.
Yeah, it's basically how it goes and then you just repeat the same exact pattern throughout the entire song.
Another song that is super easy to do is Somewhere Over the Rainbow and that one's even easier because you go a little slower.
So it's just kind of like
[C] So
[G] Over the [Am] rainbow
[F]
[C] And [C#] yeah, I will put some songs down below in the chord progression [N] that you could also play with these same exact chords.
And these ones will be all you need for those songs.
So as you can see, it is super easy to play the ukulele and to learn how to play the ukulele, I guess.
There are a lot of hard chords out there that I still can't do but, you know, I'm trying.
Give this video a thumbs up if you liked it, if you learned something.
And leave me a comment below on what song you would like to learn because I think I'm gonna do some more like song tutorials.
So yeah, hope you guys enjoyed this video and I'll see you
