Okay, I'm going to teach you a basic riff.
I call it the slider down riff and I've got a C harmonica here and
It's a really good practice for learning to move the harmonica
smoothly that's important and
Also to reverse your breath go to draw to blow and draw to blow and to do that
Smoothly, so this little riff here's the way it [B] sounds
[C]
[G] [B] [C]
[G]
So
The way I move my harp well if you look you can see my jaw is going back and forth
[B] [Bm]
Yeah, just [Gb] you're kind of a yeah
See how [B] that works for you.
I
do that along I think with a combination of
Moving the harmonic and not across my lip, but like that on my lip
dragging my lip drags with it so
[C] [G]
[B] [C] [Bm] You
[C]
[G] [C]
[Bm] [C] [G]
Now right now I'm doing a pucker or lip block on the shore, [B] but if I tongue block
[C] [G]
[C] I know that the way I'm moving the harmonica is just a little bit [B] different
[C] You can hear me.
I'm lifting my tongue up that I can lift it a lot more
[G] Doing some tongue slaps along the way
[C] [G]
[B] [C]
[G]
Okay, now the draw blow mechanics are that we start on five [D] draw
Okay, I'm gonna slide to four draw and then back to the five draw
Then [E] I'm gonna do the same thing on the blow
[N] Then drop down and do it on the four [Bm] draw on
[C] the four blow to the three blow then
[B] [G]
[Bb] Three draw to draw to ender
[C] [G]
[B]
[Gb] So that's five to four to [Bb] five now
[Db] do the same thing on the exhale
Now from four to three [Bm] same
[A] thing on the [C] exhale then [B] three draw to two drop
[G]
[B] [C] [G]
[Cm] [Em] [C]
[G] [E] Now
[C] [B] as I keep working on this and
Working on my on my tongue blocking because I'm better at puckering than I'm a tongue blocking
I'm trying to get into just moving my tongue and that's all
For the for the first part of it
So [C] [G]
[B] [C]
[Bm] [C] [G]
learning to do it in all these different ways along with giving me a pretty neat lick
Especially because you can change the timing of it and the way it feels it's helping me
[Ab] move more smoothly [B] and
It's it's a very good thing to practice now you can do it in a 12 bar here it is this is like the one chord
[C] Now [Bm] [C]
[G] [B]
[C] [Bm] [C]
[G]
I'll start it at the six blow
[Em] six blow to five blow
then [B] five to four
[C]
[G] One [C]
[G]
[B] [C] [G]
chord [F] now [G] [C]
[G] do it from the six blow for the four chord [B] [C] now [Bm] [C]
[Dm] [C] [Bm]
[Eb] [G]
come to the [B] turnaround
[C] [Bm] Yeah
[C]
[G] [B] [E]
[C] [B] [G]
So now I'll put this 12 bar [B] together
[C] [G]
So [Bm] [B]
[C] [G]
[B]
[C] [G]
[C] [G] [Eb]
[G] [B]
[Eb] [Bm] [B]
[C] [G] [Bb]
[G]
again played slowly
[E] [Bm]
[C]
[G] [B]
[E]
[Bm] [C]
[G]
[B] One way to work on is just get those first three notes
Don't take some time some effort to get it.
So it's smooth.
So it's not
But so it's just like dad.
I
Don't give you a good chances to practice swiveling back and forth between the five and the four
Then
[E] on the five blow to four blow
[B] Okay, [C] [B]
[Gb] [B] [Em]
[Cm] [G]
so that's enough on this little lick have fun with it
