[Bm] [A] [N] Hey, what's up you guys?
Marty Schwartz here from GuitarJams.com.
I'm going to teach you a nice, easy progression but with some cool sounding stuff for acoustic
guitar and I also want to let you guys know that my buddy David Taub from Next Level Guitar,
they got a sale going on with all their song DVDs and I'm going to pick one comment from
this video to win that new package.
You can check out the link down there to see what's in it and also that same commenter
is also going to get a free year at GuitarJams.com as well.
So all you got to do is leave a comment and you get to learn this song for free right now.
Here we go.
Alright, so there's this really cool little intro that takes a D shape and moves it all
the way up to here where your middle finger would be on the 7th fret of the high E string
and it's that little D shape which actually becomes a G major triad.
[G] Listen to how they sound the same.
It's the same chord, different voicing is what you would call that.
So we do this shape, then we slide [D] down to our index finger on the 5th fret of the high
E, ring finger on the 7th fret of the G, pinky on the 7th fret of the B and we play
that and that's a D major triad.
[D]
[Am] Then down a whole step, same shape, [D] back up.
Check it out.
[G] [C] [D] Same thing again, low [D] D voicing and that's that little [G] transitional thing.
[D]
[Em]
Then you need an E minor chord to our favorite bar chord, B minor, index finger [E] presses down
and that looks like a little A minor [Bm] shape.
[Em] Then E minor again to B [Bm] minor to [A] A major.
So that's what we got [Em] so far.
We got, so E minor, then B [Bm] minor, [Em] E minor, B minor, [A] A.
Then it switches to A minor, [Am] kind of a Beatles-y thing, [G] to G, [Bm] B minor, to D.
[D] And that is the verse my friends.
So check it out.
You know you do this a few [E] times.
[D] [D]
[G]
[Em] E minor to [Bm] B minor, [Em] E minor, [Bm] B minor to [A] A, [Am] A minor to G, [G] back to B minor [Bm]
to D.
[D] Starts [Em] over, E minor to [Bm] B minor, [Em] same thing.
[Bm] [A] Switches to [Am] A minor,
[G] G, [Bm] B minor,
[D] [G]
[D]
[B] into the chorus.
And then that's the bulk of the singing part of the song.
The chorus [G] is G to D back and forth like this.
G, [D] D, D, G, [D] D, G, D, [G] [D] G, D.
Now [F#] check it out though, when you're playing the D chord,
the bass player is getting an F sharp in there.
So if you can, when you play the D, if you can wrap your thumb around and get that second fret,
[G] [D] [G]
[D] [G]
[D] like that, then [Em] wait for E minor, [C] then C.
D, [D]
D, D, D, D.
So it's D for longer, back to the chorus again.
[G] [D]
[G] [D] [Em]
[C] [A] [D]
[Em] [A] And awesomely enough, my buddy Papa Stache came and taught the guitar solo for this song.
So you'll be checking out for that in the near future.
And that is the basic way to play that awesome progression.
So have fun with that.
All right, thanks for hanging out with me, GuitarJams.com.
Thanks for the support and we'll see you soon.
