_ Earthquakers calling this [N] pedal their translucent drive _ [G] manipulator, which is really kind [Eb] of funny.
You've got to [G] love those guys at Earthquaker.
_ What it really is, is a very familiar TS [N] style gain _ _ with a more neutral EQ.
So this is a low to medium drive pedal.
But you've got 12 dB of clean boost before any clipping is introduced at all.
So you can use this pedal in a variety of ways.
_ The way I'm using it right now is I'm front ending an amp that's clean and I'm just pushing
it over the brink.
You could also use it to boost a drive pedal in the same way.
You've got something that's already broken up, you just want to push it a little bit farther.
Or you could use this as a clean-ish boost with that much _ clean gain.
_ _ And you could also use it as a low gain pedal.
One of the things that makes this pedal so versatile is the EQ section.
You can see it's labeled bass and treble, pretty basic.
_ But it has 20 dB of cut or boost _ and in the center it's neutral.
And also handy is the fact that there's a centered detent so it will stay in the center.
The bass control is centered in the 80 Hz range.
Of course there's a wider shelf than that.
But it's right in the thump or low string area.
Great thing about it is it can tame woofiness or fatten up an anemic tone.
The treble is centered in the 2k area.
Again it's got a wider shelf but that's right in the sizzle pick attack area.
It's great for taming single coil pickups if they're overly bright or if you've got
an overly bright amp.
Or it can boost the high end on humbuckers or dark amps.
