Here it is
[F]
[Cm] [Ab] Oh I'm gonna cry
[F]
You [Ab] caught with the news I thought you were kidding
[F]
[Cm] You're always joking [Ab] all the time
You kept breathing but stopped living
[Eb] Held it like [C] poison
This is the first song, [F]
yeah I wrote this about 6 years ago
[Ab] And um it's basically just about like
My [C] best friend kinda like lost herself
And she's just like
There's so many emotions that I feel like she hasn't dealt [Abm] with
So this song is for her
I almost just like to [Gm] tell her to live like her mom is still here
And like she made it to 48 and she still make her birthday cake
Like the next month
[Ab] I want you to live like [Eb] the world's on [Ab] fire
Want your love like hearts don't break
[Cm] Never look down when [Eb] you walk the wire
Like [Ab] she made it, she made it Oh
[Cm] [Eb]
[Ab] You want a green tea?
[Bb] Yeah
[Cm] This [Eb]
[Ab] [C] is Woody's market
[C] I used to go here [N] everyday
Cause we were working on our house
Which is right down the street
So I could um get snacks and waters
For all my [E] dad's friends
I mean we used to drive tractors up and down [Cm] the street
Never look down [Eb] when you walk the wire
[Ab] Like she made it
I already memorized the strings
[Eb] That sounds so good
I wonder if Kaylee's gonna realize that like
I told her that I was re-recording [E] it but
I didn't tell her about violins in it At all
So this will be her first reaction I'm excited
We're about to go pick [N] her up
I moved here in second grade
I was only really here for a little bit
But like this is like the longest I've ever stayed in a place
I would say from second to fifth were like my best years
Because I finally felt like I had an actual home
I lived in a lot of rental properties
Because we were, my parents were still saving up
And still like trying to build our dream house
And so we finally built our dream house
And then we sold it six months later
Because I wanted to
And then I moved and Kaylee is like the only friend
That really stuck by me
Where we shot the homesick, the homesick video
Where I'm hanging out with Kaylee is actually
For you, what was it like growing up here on your POV?
I don't know, it's always just been kind of like mellow
I think crazy, I prefer, I'm a city girl
I like being like in the chaos
But I know that the second I would like move out to a city
I'd want to come back home
Yeah, I grew up on [B] like the other side of [Eb] town
So [G] it was also hard to like go to yours all the time
There's not like, Louis is such a small town I feel like
So you kind of have to [N] be creative with like how you make your own fun
We never took the school bus
[Cm] [Ab]
[F]
[Cm] [D]
[N] Yeah, because you moved here in second grade
And this was like literally one of the exact [Eb] places we first met at
And I remember like so [F] vividly how we met
I like walked [N] up to her
Yeah, we were in the computer room and I was talking to this other girl
[Eb] And then Kaylee comes up to me and she's like
Hi, [Db] I'm Kaylee and I'm like, hi
[Eb] And she was like, you want to hang out at recess?
And I was like, sure
Like you [A] first came up [F] and like obviously you didn't have any [Abm] friends yet
And so you were [G] just kind of like chilling by yourself
And I [N] like walked up and being like the social butterfly I was
And [C] then we hung out and then since [Abm] then Best friends
And since then, best friends forever
[Cm] [Ab]
[C] Oh [Ab] god
She like went fancy with it, I'm scared
Jump, [F] you're gonna hurt your ankle
[G]
[N]
[Bbm] My mom and I were super [F] close when we [C] were growing up
Like I was a total [F] mama's girl
She was [Db] just my biggest supporter
She was my person, you know
We were super close and she was [C] such a sweet lady
[B] Always like cheerful, super [F] happy
And like I remember her laugh so vividly
Cause that's like one of like the main things that you would hear from her
You know, our moms were best friends [C] Yeah
Honestly, it was [G] hard kind of like being far from her
Because during this time I was in LA
So [C] like there was really nothing I could do
[Dm] Except for like, you know, be on the phone with her and just like be there
I [C] remember that call just [Cm] like perfectly
[Bb] Like I remember how exactly [C] that went down
Just how I said in [Cm] the song like I thought you were joking
I think it was more like just shocked
[Eb] Because I like didn't want to like [Ab] make myself believe that
It was just so surreal
Yeah, it didn't feel real
[C] So I was just like there's no [Cm] way, you know
And then like when I told my mom
Cause my [Ab] mom didn't know, my mom was out on the porch
When this happened
And then [Fm] I went out there and I told her
It was almost like she kind of knew
[F] In a way everyone kind of did Yeah
Cause she had been battling cancer
For the past year
I think she just got that gut feeling
That like something was off that day
I think it [Dm] was at your guys' house [F] more than it was at mine
I'm gonna be honest
To my mom, she was her best friend, you know Yeah So
Our families have just always been like super close
That going down, like all I wanted to do was be there
But I also knew
It just felt like maybe it might be too much
If I went there, you know, like right away
It's just hard too, cause like we were like 10 and 11
Yeah, so young
And so like going through something [Bb] like that is just [Eb] like
[Ab] Life altering, like you don't ever expect [Gm] that Like [C] Yeah
It's just really eye opening [Cm] to like how life really is
I [Eb] get like in the song, I was telling Dylan [Ab] that like
Obviously it's more personal to me and [C] my [Cm] story
And my mom's story
[Eb] But the whole song is just about [Ab] losing a loved one
A parent and someone close to you
So I hope [Cm] someone listening to that song like realizes [Eb] that
They're not alone in [Ab] like any way
And that there's people that go through this [Cm] like daily
Unfortunately and that [Eb] there's always gonna be someone
There for them [Ab] and that they can relate to
And that things truly like do get better like
[C] In that moment, like [Cm] obviously it feels like your life's just [C] Over
With time like things really do start [Cm] to move forward
And you just gotta push through [Eb] it
At the end of the day like you
You still need to like [Ab] remember like the good times with that person
Like also little [Cm] things like
A lot of people say like I love you to the moon and back
[Eb] It was their thing, like they said [Ab] it all the time
I tell Kaylee she [C] looks [Cm] exactly like her mom
Like [Eb] she just becomes more and more [Ab] like her mom
Which is a very good compliment [C] because your mom literally had no acne
When she was your age and literally looked exactly [F] like you [C] Jealous
It [Cm] was more to remind you to like not
[D] Forget about like those little [Am] things
Yeah really just being there for someone
[Ab] Is like the biggest thing that you could [Gb] do
Just making sure they're [B] okay
Even if it's been like five years since the incident happened
Just always check in with them
Like just even if like you haven't talked
Or [Ab] if they seem fine just always [B] checking in and making sure that they're okay
She [Eb] first played me the song like about a year
I think it was like two years ago
Two, a year or two ago
She was like I have a surprise for you
I had no idea [B] about any of it
And then she just played it for me and just
Tears and tears just coming out
But I was sitting in my room
It was like 10 o'clock at night
And she was just like [F] I have a song to play for you
And I was like oh gosh
[Eb]
Cause she shows me all of her songs before
She releases them or is done recording them
And so I thought it was just gonna be like another [A] cute little song
[Gb] Which it was [B] but it was just obviously
[A] A lot deeper [D] than I thought it was gonna [F] be Yeah
[C]
[Ab] [F] [C]
[Ab] [Eb]
It sounds amazing dude

I mean we used to drive tractors up and down [Cm] the street
_ Never look down [Eb] when you walk the wire
[Ab] Like she made it _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ I already memorized the strings
[Eb] That sounds so good
I wonder if Kaylee's gonna realize that like
I told her that I was re-recording [E] it but
I didn't tell her about violins in it At all
So _ this will be her first reaction I'm excited
We're about to go pick [N] her up
I moved here in second grade
_ I was only really here for a little bit
But like this is like the longest I've ever stayed in a place
I would say from second to fifth were like my best years
Because I finally felt like I had an actual home
I lived in a lot of rental properties
Because we were, my parents were still saving up
And still like trying to build our dream house
And so we finally built our dream house
And then we sold it six months later
Because I wanted to
And then I moved and Kaylee is like the only friend
That really stuck by me
Where _ _ _ _ _ _ we shot the homesick, the homesick video
_ Where I'm hanging out with Kaylee is actually _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ For you, what was it like growing up here on your _ POV?
I don't know, it's always just been kind of like mellow
I think crazy, I prefer, I'm a city girl
I like being like in the chaos
But I know that the second I would like move out to a city
I'd want to come back home
Yeah, I grew up on [B] like the other side of [Eb] town
So [G] it was also hard to like go to yours all the time
There's not like, Louis is such a small town I feel like
_ _ So you kind of have to [N] be creative with like how you make your own fun
We never took the school bus
_ _ _ [Cm] _ _ _ [Ab] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [F] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Cm] _ _ [D] _
_ [N] _ _ Yeah, because you moved here in second grade
And since then, best friends forever _
_ _ [Cm] _ _ [Ab] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [C] Oh [Ab] god
_ She like went fancy with it, I'm scared
Jump, [F] you're gonna hurt your ankle
[G] _
_ _ [N] _ _ _ _ _ _
[Bbm] My mom and I were super [F] close when we [C] were growing up
Like I was a total [F] mama's girl
She was [Db] just my biggest supporter
She was my person, you know
We were super close and she was [C] such a sweet lady
_ _ [B] Always like cheerful, super [F] happy
[Ab] Is like the biggest thing that you could [Gb] do _
Just making sure they're [B] okay
[Eb] _
Cause she shows me all of her songs before
She releases them or is done recording them
And so I thought it was just gonna be like another [A] cute little song
[Gb] _ Which it was [B] but it was just obviously
[A] A lot deeper [D] than I thought it was gonna [F] be Yeah
_ [C] _
_ [Ab] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _ [C] _
_ [Ab] _ _ _ _ _ _ [Eb] _
_ It sounds amazing dude
