Well, hey guys, what's up?
Mike Gross here [N] rocking guitar lessons calm and youtube.com slash rocking guitar lessons one
That's down with lifer
for my subscriber Sean Hart
Sean Hartel
this is [G] a
Phil ensembles been
the [N] same ex singer of Pantera
So let's jump into this the tuning is C [C] sharp standard
[B]
It does this for quite a while on song here's [G] I'm going to show you [N] from the very very beginning with the slide in
Two palm muted ease and then go fret 17 on the low E.
You can use your hobby your first finger would be best for that
Slide it to around
[C] Right around fret 5 you don't want to hear the stop point so
[N]
Open
[C#] E, two palm muted E
[B] Then go first finger [N] 14th fret on the low [D#] E
[E] Do a half [A] step bent
[C#] after [D#] [G#] [C#]
[N] [C#]
[N] that bit
two palm muted ease again [B]
and [N] then
Pick that 14th [C] fret do a half step bend and then pull it off.
Don't [N] release that bend back to its original pitch
You do that twice so and [C] then this time pick it again, but do the release
[D#] [C#] And then pick fret [B] 12, okay
[N] Outside of that slide that we did in the intro go back and repeat it.
So
[C#] [G#]
[C#] Third one go
After [A]
[G] that [C] second pull off you do on that 14 to open [D#] then [C#m] go
[C] It's like a [N] what that remind me of
paranoid
I'm [C] Sabbath.
It also reminds me a little bit of sound garden
[C#m] [B]
[C] So go 10th fret II [Cm] you're gonna pick that hammer to 12
[B] [C#] You do the same thing on the a string
[B]
It's a good little [C#m] sub group to exercise right there
[F#]
[B] [F#] [C] Then go is the power cord 10 e [C#] 12 a
[B] I'm [C#] gonna go [C] down up down and then change the [B] 5e 7a so
[F#]
Now [G] if you're kind of new at [N] guitar
And you're not really used to power chord changes.
Let me give you a little pointer
Lift the pressure off
We have kind of a long distance to travel to so don't take your fingers completely off
Just lift the [G] pressure off and kind of slide it over there
[B] [F#] And if [C] it slides a tiny bit in there that's not a big deal either you don't [B] want it to be like
[F#] [B] You know, but
[F#] So [C] we're heading over there to [C#] to 5e 7a once you get above it hit [B] it
[F#] [E] And [C] then keep it there and then you're gonna palm you the low e off of this power chord
Twice then hit the ENA no palm [F#] you
[C] Then move over to the third and fifth fret on the ENA
[Em]
So it's [C] good practice, you know
Really good power chord one, but also a good single string progression with the house step bends and the pull-offs and stuff.
So
[F#] You [Em]
could sub [C#m] group just that
[E] [F#] [E] [F#] [E] [C#]
[N] All right, so there you go down song called lifer for Sean Hartel and I hope this helps you dude
