[Dm] Hey guys what's up, Yahausha here with Simple Keys.
Welcome back to another video.
In [D] this
lesson I'm going to be showing you a sweet descending [Dm] chord movement and you can use
this pretty much for [D] talk [A] music or you can use it as a way [Am] to help you end a song.
So
let's [A] get right into it.
We're in the key of F major for [G] this one.
So after the 1, 2,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, that will bring us back to the [F] top.
Now as always if you want to learn
how to play an alto of keys I do have a guide that you can download over at the [D] site.
It's
going to walk you through the [Am] 12 major and minor [F] keys.
So go ahead and check that out.
[Am] And if you also want to learn more about the music learning process, [D] if you want to get
a better [F] understanding of chords, understanding [Bb] the fundamentals, [A] progressions and how to
break down [E] songs, I do [D] have a program called [Am] Master the Piano that takes you through that
entire music learning process from scratch.
So go ahead [E] and check that out.
[C] And if you
also [A] want to learn how to apply some of these [B] concepts into songs, I highly [Am] recommend joining
the Simple Keys Lab.
It's going to be the best place to take your playing to the next
[F] level.
You're going to learn different types of songs and [B] different ways to insert or add
in some of these [C] movements.
So go ahead and [Am] check that out.
So I'll have that link down
as well.
Alright so let's get right into this.
Now this [E] is a fairly simple movement.
[F] We are
in the key of F major and all we're doing is moving [G] down the scale.
So we're going to
be moving from [E] F, [D] E, [C] D, [B] C.
Then we're going to play a flat 5 which is the B.
[Bb] Then you're
going to play the B flat.
And [F] we can end it here if you want.
And then resolve.
C to F
sorry.
Or [A] again resolve to A if you wanted to which is like a substitute for F.
Alright
so one more time the bass notes are.
[C] [B] [Bb] [F]
And then you can resolve at F.
Alright so the way I
would play this it would go like this.
[D] [G] [Bbm]
[F]
Or you can just resolve to F if you like.
Alright
so the movement here is we're going to be playing an F major chord.
The basic chords
are like F major, [C]
C major chord over E.
And [Dm] then F major chord over D which is a D minor
7.
[C] A C major chord.
So C, E, G.
Then the next chord [G] here is a G major chord over B.
Then after [Bbm] this it's a B flat minor 6.
Yeah B flat minor 6 so B flat, B flat, B flat,
G.
[F]
Then you can resolve to F major.
But I like to switch things up here and substitute
this F major chord with an F major add 9 over A.
Just to change up the voicing.
So one more
time.
[C] [G]
[Bbm] [Bb] [F]
Okay now the reason I play this is that it [G] creates an open feel so it allows me to
continue that thought.
[D]
[Cm] [Dm] So it's great for talk music but if you want to resolve that you
can simply.
[C] [G]
[Bbm] [F]
Alright so one more time.
We're just playing these same chords but we're playing
a drop 2 movement so taking out this F here.
So F major over F [C] pretty much then C major
chord over E.
And then just to simplify it as well like what you're going to be doing
your right hand [G] is kind of moving like
[B] your [C] thumb will stay on C and then [F] everything just
comes down [B] descending.
[F] [C]
Then next chord [G] G major chord over B.
Then [Bbm] B flat minor 6.
[F]
Then an
F major chord.
Okay that's the entire movement.
Then as always you can always take it a step
further by spicing it up.
Add some grace notes and just add a few more chord voicings in
there.
So one more time.
[C] [G] [Bbm]
[F]
[Fm] [Gm] [G]
[F]
Alright so those are some ideas that you can use to spice up
your playing.
So it's a very simple movement you can move it anywhere.
[C]
[Bbm]
[C] [G] [Bbm]
[F] Alright so have
some fun with this one and I'm going to end this here.
I'm going to see you guys in the
next video.
Now take care.
