You know this is Del McCurry and I've been playing D-28 guitars from my first
the first D-28 that I played actually was
no wait a minute let me go on back further.
I may go back to where we can't
none of us remember [Em] but I
[F#] [B]
[Em]
[E] I mean oh to my
since you [A]
let me today.
I played in a [A] band Keith Danielson of Blue Ridge Ramblers years ago and at the time I played banjo
but later on [C] I got a job with a band playing guitar [Gm] and I borrowed his
I think his was a [E] 1952
D-28.
Well I played it in that band just for a little while then I got a job with Bill Monroe
and I started playing Bill Monroe's D-28.
It was a 1939 D-28 and everybody that had been in his band
up until that point had [A] played that guitar.
Clyde Moody [E] played it, Lester Flatt played it,
Jimmy Martin played that guitar and right [G] on up and I was [E] playing it and after I [F#] quit
somebody stole that guitar.
Nobody [D#] knows where it's at [Bm] today.
Great guitar.
[B]
[F#m] I just
I [A] played a lot of guitars all through the years you [E] know
and I just have never come up with anything to suit me like a [Em] D-28 [Gm] or a D-18.
