[G]
[D]
[Em] [C]
[D]
[Em] We're going to open A [A] for tuning.
[N] So let's start off with the fingering.
I like to finger it this way instead of this way because we're going to be putting our index finger [E] here.
So it's just easier to start off this way.
This is your 5th fret right here for your reference point.
So we're 5th string, 5th fret, 4th string, 4th fret.
And as the pattern changes we're going to be putting our index finger here on the 3rd fret of the 6th string.
That's the only thing that changes.
[Eb] [D] So it starts off like this.
[G]
[A] Let's take a look at the picking hand really quick there.
[Em]
Starting on the 5th [D] string.
[G]
[G]
Do that again.
[D]
Then pick the open E string once.
And then fret the 3rd fret.
[G]
So do that [D] again.
[G]
Alright.
[D] Now back to the fretting hand.
We had [G] this pattern.
This is what we ended on.
[E] Now we're going to move to this.
[Em] [Db]
Which is 2nd fret here on the 5th string.
And [N] 4th fret here on the 4th string.
And you're starting on the low E which [E] is open.
[Em]
[G] Then back.
And then where we [D] started.
So let's just go ahead and run through that one more time.
[G]
[Em]
Now in this next part there's some subtlety going on with the chords that I may not have exactly right.
[Abm] But this is the way I'm [D] hearing it anyway.
[C]
This is the first part which is [Ab] a D.
And then you're putting your pinky here on the 3rd fret.
And leave these two fingers there.
[C] And put this here.
3rd fret 5th string.
And this is the 2nd fret 4th string.
Don't play the low E.
[E] Once again.
I screwed that up.
Sorry.
Once again.
[C]
And you can pick the high notes again there.
Now the second time through.
Instead of this chord.
[G] We're just going to play right there.
And leave the 3rd and 4th strings open.
[D] And let them ring out.
[G]
Once again.
No low E.
[N] And the 3rd time through.
We're playing the same chord that we did the first time.
That same C.
But for some reason it sounds better if I leave that high G off.
[F] And just let that high E note ring.
[D]
[C] [Am]
[D] Okay so I'll do those all up to there.
[C]
[G]
[D] [C]
Okay.
And from there I go to just a regular C.
A regular G.
[G] [D]
Okay now we'll do those chords a few [D] more times.
But for now I just want to finish off the song.
[Em] Because there's only really 3 chords left.
And it's an E minor.
This is during the chorus.
A C.
[C]
And a D.
[D] And if you want you can add that suspended 4th on and off.
[Em]
[C] [D]
[Em]
Now if you want to you can crank on some distortion [G] there and just do the power chords.
[E]
[C] [D]
So let's run through those chords a few more times for [Db] some of you.
[D] [C]
[D] [G]
[C] [Am]
[G]
[D]
Okay a little faster.
[C]
[D]
[G]
[D] [C]
Let's do it one more time.
