Hi there, it's Patty Kusterov's 365 Days of Fiddle Tunes and today's day 13.
We
just drove in from Edmonton yesterday so we're kind of tired.
I let Jeremy drive
through Saskatchewan just because, you know, he wanted to.
But he's tired today,
we both are, but we're going to do a Reg Bovet tune.
I remember as a kid growing
up my parents would would put every fiddle opportunity in front of me that
they could and Reg Bovet being from Winnipeg, we knew where he lived and they
became really good friends of ours, Reg and Burl, and my parents would bring me
to their house and Reg would play tunes with me and show me tunes that he's
written as he's writing them and it was a really great experience to be able to
do that as a young teenage fiddler.
So we're gonna do one of Reg's.
This is the
Selkirk Centennial Waltz.
This one was pretty popular in the contest
circuit for a while in Ontario, it still is I think, but people played it
backwards.
They played the B part first and Reg used to say, well I'm really glad
people are playing my waltz but why are they playing it backwards?
So we're gonna
play the Selkirk Centennial Waltz the right way.
All right, in order I mean.
One, two, three, one, two, three.
