Welcome everyone for this Thin Lizzy tune.
I'm tuned down half a step so [Gb] [Eb] if you want to tune to E flat that'll [C] get you in tune.
I love dancing in the moonlight.
It's got a lot of mood in it [N] and I took my 58 Les Paul and I didn't like the burst buckers
in it [Gm] so I changed it out for some Lindy Fralin Pure PAFs [N] and I wired it 50's style.
I really love the tone of this guitar now.
It's like night and day.
It's right up there with my new [Eb] 57 with the custom buckers.
I just [N] love the tone of it.
So
[E] anyhow this will give you an idea of what these pickups can do.
Ok the song [A] starts out with, it's [B] really a guitar and he's palm muting and he's playing
[A] along with the bass.
So if you want to [Eb] do that [G] part it's, we kind of slide into 7 [Ab]
on the [Ebm] 6th string.
[Bb] [N] Then we're going to hit the 5th string at 5th fret [Db] twice.
And then we'll hit 7 on the 5th string but [Ab] it'll be kind of staccato.
We'll hit one note and then another note.
[A]
So we have this so far.
[Bbm] [Ebm]
And [N] then we're going to go back and forth.
We're going to hit 5 on the 5th string, 7 on the 6th back to 5 twice on the 5th string.
[Db]
Alright so we have this.
[Eb] [Db]
Then [Eb] we hit 7.
[N] Then we come to 7 [A] that's on the 5th string.
Then we come to 7 on the [Bb] 6th string twice.
It's [D] like starting over again.
And then we'll hit 5 on the 5th [Ebm] string twice.
[A] And then we'll go to the 3rd fret of the 5th string.
Hit that [B] staccato twice.
And then we're going [Ab] to go [D] 2 to open on the 5th and then [Bb] 3.
[Gb]
[Abm] Okay so all [Bb] together slowly.
One two three four.
[Db] [Eb]
[Bbm]
[Eb] [Bbm] [Db] [B]
[Bb] [Gb] [Bbm]
[Eb]
[B] [Ebm]
[B] [Bb] [Gb] [Ebm]
[A] So I think there's 6 scratches [Eb] there.
[E] Down up down up down up.
Okay.
And that'll get you into the chords.
The chords we're [Ebm] playing in the verse are E minor.
[Eb] Then what we do is just play an inversion of B [Bbm] minor.
[Abm] So we're just really lifting our middle finger and we're playing [Bbm] the 4th string as the B.
[Dbm] And we're barred across the rest of the strings at the [Bbm] 7th fret.
[B] To a C.
And [Gb] then to a G.
[Ebm] So we have this.
[Bbm]
[B] [Gb]
Alright so the strumming is more of a down [Ab] and then a chop.
And then an up down [Gb] up down.
And [Bbm] then you do the same again [Db] [B] with the B.
And the [Em] G is just a down then [Ab] down up because there's a couple licks [Gb] in there.
[Ebm] Alright.
[F] The licks I'll show you in a second.
So we got [Gb] this rhythm.
[Bbm]
[B] [Gb]
[Bbm]
[B] [Ebm]
Now what the other guitar does when they go to the G.
He's going to slide up to the on the 3rd and 2nd string.
You can hit the 4th string if you want.
[E] [Gb] [Abm] Alright.
So what he's doing is he's hammering in [Db] 13 on the 2nd and 14 on the 3rd [Ebm] string.
[E] And gives it some vibrato.
So it's down up down with vibrato.
[Abm]
[Ebm] Alright.
[E] That's the very first one.
[Db] Now the second one when he comes back in he's going to [Ab] come to that [Eb] 13 and 14 and slide
up [Abm] to 15 16 and then back to 12 fret and give that some vibrato.
[Ebm] [Gm] Alright.
That's the second one.
The [Ab] 3rd fill is just like [C] the first.
[Abm]
Alright.
So those [A] are the fills in the verse when they're [Ab] playing the G that the second guitar does.
Alright.
[Eb] Here's the chorus at speed and then I'll slow it down and show you [Gb] what we're doing.
[Bbm] [B]
[Gb] [Bb] [Db] [Gb]
[Bbm] [B]
[Gb] [Bb] [Db] [Gb]
[Bbm] [B]
[Ebm] [Abm]
[Ab] Alright.
So what we're doing there a little different is after the [Gb] G we're going to go to [Bb] a B.
[Eb] And then to [F] our B [Bbm] minor.
And [Gb] then E minor from there.
[Bbm] [B]
[Gb] [Bbm] [Gb]
[Bbm]
[B] [Gb] [Bb]
[Db] [Bb] [Bbm] [Gb]
[Bbm] [B]
[Gb] [Ab]
1 2 3 I think they do chukkas there.
But anyhow so that'll get you through the chorus.
[Ebm] That's how he changes it up.
[Bb] G [Db]
B B [Abm] minor.
Okay.
And [Bbm] this B minor.
Of course we're playing this in verse back up here.
[N]
So that'll get you through the chorus.
Now speaking of the lead.
When they go into the [Ebm] lead they're just playing the verse underneath.
The verse is the rhythm.
[Bbm] [B]
[Gb]
So it's [Bm] real.
It's not that [E] staccato kind of strumming.
It's just more chords.

[A] And then we'll go to the 3rd fret of the 5th string.
Hit that [B] staccato twice.

The chords we're [Ebm] playing in the verse are E minor.
_ _ _ [Eb] Then what we do is just play an inversion of B [Bbm] minor. _

_ _ [Bbm] _ _ _ _
[B] _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Bbm] _ _ _

He's going to slide up to the on the 3rd and 2nd string.
You can hit the 4th string if you want.
_ [E] _ _ [Gb] _ [Abm] _ _ Alright.
So what he's doing is he's hammering in [Db] 13 on the 2nd and 14 on the 3rd [Ebm] string. _ _
[E] _ _ And gives it some vibrato.
So it's down up down with vibrato.
[Abm] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Ebm] Alright.
[E] That's the very first one.
[Db] Now the second one when he comes back in he's going to [Ab] come to that _ _ [Eb] 13 and 14 and slide
up [Abm] to 15 16 and then back to 12 fret and give that some vibrato. _ _ _
[Ebm] _ _ _ _ [Gm] Alright.
That's the second one.
The [Ab] 3rd fill is just like [C] the first.
[Abm] _ _ _
_ Alright.
So those [A] are the fills in the verse when they're [Ab] playing the G that the second guitar does.
Alright.
[Eb] Here's the chorus at speed and then I'll slow it down and show you [Gb] what we're doing. _
_ [Bbm] _ _ _ _ [B] _ _ _
_ [Gb] _ _ [Bb] _ [Db] _ [Gb] _ _ _
_ [Bbm] _ _ _ _ [B] _ _ _
_ [Gb] _ _ [Bb] _ [Db] _ [Gb] _ _ _
_ [Bbm] _ _ _ _ [B] _ _ _
_ [Ebm] _ _ [Abm] _ _ _ _ _
[Ab] _ Alright.
So what we're doing there a little different is after the [Gb] G _ we're going to go to [Bb] a B. _
_ [Eb] And then to [F] our B [Bbm] minor. _
And [Gb] then E minor from there. _ _ _ _
_ [Bbm] _ _ _ _ [B] _ _ _
_ _ [Gb] _ _ [Bbm] _ _ _ [Gb] _
_ _ _ _ [Bbm] _ _ _ _
[B] _ _ _ _ _ [Gb] _ [Bb] _ _
[Db] _ _ [Bb] _ _ [Bbm] _ [Gb] _ _ _
_ _ [Bbm] _ _ _ _ [B] _ _
_ _ _ [Gb] _ _ [Ab] _ _ _
_ 1 2 3 I think they do chukkas there.
But anyhow so that'll get you through the chorus.
[Ebm] That's how he changes it up.
[Bb] G _ [Db]
B B [Abm] minor.
Okay.
And [Bbm] this B minor.
Of course we're playing this in verse back up here.
[N] _
So that'll get you through the chorus.
Now speaking of the lead.
When they go into the [Ebm] lead they're just playing the verse underneath.
The verse is the rhythm. _ _ _
_ _ [Bbm] _ _ _ [B] _ _ _
_ [Gb] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
So it's [Bm] real.
It's not that [E] staccato kind of _ strumming.
It's just more chords.
