Today I'm going to show you one of my all-time favorite pedals.
This is of course the Colorsound Powerboost.
I bought this one new in 2005 at Macarius in London.
This is the 9 volt battery version with the master volume knob, the gain or the volume,
the bass and treble controls.
David Gilmer used this pedal on albums like Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and Animals.
And it's really a difficult pedal to record because you really have to
experience that massive
tone and I'm playing extremely loud on these clips.
I'm using my Reeves amp in the back there,
which is basically a clone of the [G] old HiWatts and I've tried to set it as close to David Gilmer's amps.
_ I'm also using my Strato with similar pickups as his.

For all the clips, I've set the treble to about 9 o'clock, the bass to noon and
the volume to about 3 o'clock and the master volume to slightly above unity level, pushing the front end of the amp.
_ This is the 9 volt version, which has slightly less headroom than the 12 volt, but you get an idea of the sounds.
Hopefully you'll
recognize some of them.
So this is by no means a proper review of the pedal, but
an attempt to show you some of my favorite tones.
