Chantelle Kraviosic, everybody!
Thank you.
We are in for an hour of great music tonight.
Welcome to Live at the Rehearsal Hall.
Thanks, I'm so happy to be here.
I was just noticing all the pictures on the wall in the green room,
and it was really cool.
Well, you belong on that wall.
Well, the camera is going to be a picture there, but
You are going to be a picture.
You look fantastic.
Thank you, so do you.
I'm Marilyn Dennis, your host tonight,
so we're going to feature some new songs from your new CD
and some great ones that we know so well. So, welcome.
Thank you for having me.
Chantelle, everyone.
This next song is really symbolic for me of something good
always seeming to come out of something bad.
I had sort of one of my first profoundly sad experiences
when I lost a friend at a really young age,
and I wrote this song about it,
and then it's the song that ended up being kind of the start of my career.
And it's off of my first album.
This is called Surrounded.
I
[F#m]
[A]
[D]
[A]
was there when you shone the [Bm] brightest
Let the hand from afar
[A] I was there when you were young and strong [Bm] and perverted
And everything that makes a young [A] man a star
Oh, [Bm] you were a star
[A] I was there and I swear to God
[Bm] And all of my mother's grave
And everything I have, [A] whatever will it bring
I was there and [Bm] I saw you with my own two eyes
And now [A] it's [D] all around me
It's all around me [Bm] I'm surrounded I'm surrounded
It's [A] [D] all around [A] me
All [D] around [Bm] me
You surround me like a sun
Oh, [A] ooh
Da-da [Bm]-da-da-da-da
I [A]
was there
Come on, tell me I [Bm] wasn't worth
Sticking it out for
I was there
And I know that I was worth it
[B] As if I wasn't worth it
Life makes me worth something
[A] [D] It's all around me
All around me [Bm] I'm surrounded
You know
[A] All [D] around me
All around me
[Bm] You surround me like a circle
[A] [D]
[A] [D] [G]
You surround [A]
[D] [A] [D] [G]
me like [A]
[Bm]
a circle
Don't lose sight of me now
[A] Da-da-da-da-da-da
[Bm] Don't lose sight of me now
[A] Cause I was there when they dropped the bomb
And [F#m] I remember
[D] I still hear the bomb
And [A] I still fight the bomb
And I still fear the bomb
[B] Still hate the bomb
Sometimes I still get the bad
[A] Ooh, [D]
ooh, [G]
[E] [A] [D]
[G]
[G] [A] [D]
ooh
[G]
[A] I'm in that [A] old
[D] Ooh, ooh, ooh
[G]
I'm [A] in [D] that old
Ooh, [G] ooh, ooh
And I'm [A] in the [D] old All around
[G]
