[Bm] That's the introduction to Peace Train and we're in the key of C here but we're going
to start by picking double stops.
Start [C] with a C chord shape but you don't need the fifth
string so you've just got the fourth and second strings.
Because we're going to strum later
on most of the song we want to play this with [N] pick and finger.
If you want to pick with
just your fingers you'll need to strum with your fingers as well later on.
The pick will
play the low note and middle or ring finger will play the high note.
[C] Pinch four and two.
[E] Then you want the fourth string third fret [Gm] and second string third fret.
Pinch [F] four and
two.
Pinch them again and slide quickly to the fifth fret.
[G] Again in this shape.
[C] Back
to the [F] third fret and back [Eb] to the second and [Bb] first fret shape that we [C] started on.
[Dm]
[G] [C] That's
bar one.
Be careful of the count here.
One e [Dm] and a two [G] e and three e [D] and [C] four and.
The
second bar outlines an F chord.
[F] [Gm] [F]
We're going to play [Ab] the third string, hammer it open to
[G] second fret [A] and then take the first string at the first [Dm] fret.
[E] Third string again, slide
[A] it to the third fret [Bb] and play [Gm] the first string at the third fret.
[Eb] Third string again, slide
it to the fifth [C] fret and play the first string at the [Am] fifth fret.
Then bring the [Gm] shape back
to the [B] third fret, [Eb] pinch three and one and slide to five.
[F]
[C] [G] We're counting here.
[F] One e
and [Gm] a two e [Am] and a three [Gm] and [Am] a four.
[D]
[Gb] And bar three, the phrase in bar three really sort
of begins at the end of bar two.
[Bm] [C] [Bm] So we were at [C] the third and first strings fifth fret.
You just play the third string one more time at the end of bar [Gm] two on the a four.
So we've
done the slide three to five.
A [Am] four e and a.
There's the third string one more time.
And then in bar three, pinch three and one.
Up to [E] the seventh fret, [Bm] pinch three and one.
[B] Now third string at the [G] ninth fret and the index finger takes the first string at [C] eight,
three and one.
And again, add the first string at [G] the tenth fret, three and one.
And come down
to [Bb] third and first strings at the [Abm] seventh fret, [Bm] three and one.
[G] Again, this is a syncopated rhythm
like the first bar was.
One e and a.
We're starting on the fifth fret.
[F] One e [Bm] and a two [C] e and a three
[G] e and a [Bm] four e and.
[F] [C] [Bm]
And [Gm] at bar four, the fifth [Am] fret shape, three and one.
Seventh fret shape,
three and [Bm] one.
Fifth [Am] fret shape again.
And again counting one e [Bm] and a [Am] two e and a three e and four.
[C] Now I've been
as we begin the verse.
[G] So let me play that intro again all the way through and slowly.
[C] Now [Dm] [G]
[C] [Dm] [Gm] [Am] [F]
[G] [C] [E] [G] [Am] [Bm]
[Am] [C] I've
