My [F] [C]
[D] [E] interest in music began when I was [N] just a little girl.
I started singing with my parents.
My mom would play piano, my dad would play guitar.
And from that point on, I just fell in love with music and knew I needed to do it.
I started writing songs when I was about eight years old and was a little bit of a weird
kid and just loved songwriting.
And so I would come home from school and sit in my closet and push the dresser over to
the side and just write.
It was a passion that started at a really young age, but I just kept loving it and doing
it and decided I just need to make a living doing this.
I grew up on country music of the 90s.
And so, you know, the Dixie Chicks and the Judds and Shania and all of that really great
like girl power music.
I grew up listening to, but also like where I get my ideas are from movies, conversations
that I have with, you know, my friends or random people [A] or I love eavesdropping on people at restaurants.
And so [D] I kind of just [E] whatever I can take in, I try to [N] make something out of it.
My songs, I feel like are very raw, very honest.
The sound I go for is pretty, pretty organic.
I like to stay out of the way of the song and kind of just let the song breathe.
Everything to You is one of my favorite songs off of my new EP.
I wrote it with a couple of really good friends of mine.
And to me, it just sums up who I am as a person.
Wildflowers and holy sweaters and walking in high heels and holding my own with a beer.
And that's just, I mean, that's just who I am.
But I love that the song is more about I can be all of these things, but [Abm] without, you know,
the love of my life, which the song's about my husband, without that, you know, [E] it really
isn't.
