Actually, this [Am] is our 40th anniversary of Cactus.
[G#]
Cactus, [G] when we first started in 1970, there weren't even any video machines around.
That's why there's not a [B] lot of [C] [F] film on Cactus.
The [G] kind of music that was really, really high energy, raw bluesy music.
[N] Detroit was [A] known for blues and New York was known for blues.
That's really how the whole thing happened.
We [N] took the influences of the day.
Like when we did Parchment [G] Farm, we wanted it to be faster than 10 years after the time we had I Was Going [F] Home, which is a fast song.
Parchment Farm was the first [Dm] double bass drum, really fast boogie with the bass drums going so fast,
[N] which was done around that time, 1970, [A#] obviously.
[C] [Gm]
[C] [B]
[A#] [G] [Gm]
[G] We're in a Bible [C] row, [A#] don't ever let the shit [G] go on, yeah [C#] yeah.
[G] [Gm] We don't have for the rest of my life.

We don't have for the rest of my life.
[Gm]
We don't have for the rest of [C] my life.
I don't belong [A#] to you, [C#] I don't belong to [G] you.
[Dm]
[Gm] [G] We [E] were never a huge [D] band, but it was a good sized [F#] band.
We used to draw in major cities like 2500 people in Toronto and 5000 people [G#] in New York and [N] Memphis and 3000 in LA, 3000 in London.
Cleveland, 2500 people.
So we had a decent following.
We never sold gold and platinum records, never had a hit record, but we did influence a lot of musicians and a lot of other bands.
I think we've actually influenced more bands than Vanilla Fudge did.

[Gm] [F] Finding out it's all, [D] it'll be all [C] alone and [G] far down.
Sisters [A#] and brothers, [Dm] [C] I'll never [D] find [F] you [G] true.
