This next song is called Lost.
I wrote it about a year and a half ago.
Actually, this is one of the ones that kind of, I was at my lowest of lows, you know.
I was going through a divorce and living in a camper behind my mom and daddy's house.
Oil fields crashing.
Really, the title of the song was exactly where I was.
I was lost.
And I wrote this song and didn't know exactly what the purpose of it was going to be.
It wound up doing well on its own and then I wound up signing to Average Joe's Entertainment.
And luckily for me, it got used in an Old Henry trailer for the new movie Old Henry with Tim Blake Nelson and Trey Sackins.
And I'm just fortunate to be part of this kind of stuff.
Looking back at the moment when I wrote this song, I would have never thought I'd be sitting here and doing this.
So this song is called Lost.
It tells its own story.
[Eb] [Ebm]
In the same street as the devil, [Gb] I shook [Eb] his hand.
[Ebm]
I can tell you I ain't never [Gb] feared another [Ebm] man.
I'm far from a saint, just shy of [Gb] disciples, some know what I [Ebm] mean.
I've done things that make your skin crawl, baby, but [Ab] I'm ten years clean.
Running [Ab] around, [Ebm] running around, when it [Ab] comes lonely, I know [Ebm] that sound.
[Ab] Running around, [Eb] running around, [Ebm] because [Gb] I've been lost more than [Eb] I've been free.
[Ebm]
Whiskey and codeine [Gb] is my poison [Ebm] of choice.
That was long before my baby, [Gb] and [Ab] I found my voice.
Picked up a pen, started writing on it, [Gb] became healing for [Ebm] me.
Even after all these years [Gb] now, it's still [Ebm] plain to see.
I'm [Ab] running around, running [Ebm] around, when it [Gb] comes lonely, [Eb] I know [Ebm] that sound.
Running [Ab] around, running [Ebm] around, because I've been [Gb] lost.
