_ Hello, I am Blue Saraceno and today we are listening to the new Ball Buster by Dirty Boy Pedals.
And this is a pretty outstanding pedal for the fact that it is a silicon based booster pedal.
So, today we're playing through an _ old Supro, it's a 212 amp [A] and the straight sound you'll
hear on it is basically this. _
[E] _ _ [G] _ [Dm] _ _ [A] _ [E] _ _
And I'm using the Ball Buster to drive it a little harder because I kind of really end up liking. _ _ _ _ _
I really end up liking my old amps when they work and the cool thing about it is that it
takes my source tone and kind of.
_ _ _ _ [A] _
[E] _ _ _ [G] _ [D] _ _ [A] _ [G] _
[E] _ So this is probably one of my favorite pedals just due to the fact that it takes all my
very, very cool kind of one trick pony vintage amps and makes it, puts it on a competitive level.
_ _ So basically the way I have it set up now is this pedal can start as, it almost starts
as kind of a subtle boost.
It pretty much kicks in around 10 to 15 dB, it kind of gets going right out of the gate
and then I can kind of turn it up into almost like an over the top explosive fuzz.
I'll show you right now I have it set at just a basic, the most minimal boost you can do.
So this is my straight sound, _ _ _ _ _ this is with it on. _ _

[A] _ [F] _ [E] And then what I'll do is I'll turn it up and you can see how it just kind of freaks out
and goes into _ the lovely fuzz mode.

[E] _ _ _ you can see it's pretty versatile as far as what you can do and it's great for taking,
you know, just putting the guitar into the lead range.
Now, one of my favorite features on this is the high, medium and low switch.
This is very cool for all the players out there that have the old Plexies or the bass
Plexies where, kind of like in this channel where it's very cool but the low end gets
a little tubby _ [G] and [A] _
_ [C] _ I love it because it's fat.
The problem I have is that it's almost too flubby and tubby when I go to do the leads.
So by using the high, medium or low switch, I'll show you, I'll put it on its lightest
setting and I'll kind of start shaving off the lows.
So this is with it on [E] right here.
_ _ _ You can tell it's got that rattly.
_ [D] _ [Em] _ _ _ [F#] [G] But then by just turning the switch, I shave off those lows and now it's [E] _ _ [A] like_
[E] _ _ So [B] _ _ [A#] _ [A] _ _ _ [E] _ [D] _
_ [A] _ [G] _ [D] _ [A] _ [E] _ _
it's pretty great because it takes my old kind of out of date _ _ [C] sound and just makes [D] [Em] it_ _ _
[D] It's [A] _ [E] _ _ kind of like when they master your record.
If you want more bass out of it, they get rid of the lousy frequencies and they bring
up the good frequencies.
_ So the other nice feature about this pedal is that the EQ section which is very simple,
just bass and treble, is pretty much perfectly voiced for guitar and I'll show you what I'm talking about.
The way I have it set now is the bass is off and I'll turn up the bass and [Fm] you'll hear
how it kind of just brings the [F#] fatter, _ _ [G] thicker_
[F#m] _
_ As [D] I turn it _ up_ _
_ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ [A] So _ _
[Em] it kind of gives it that old really kind of_
It's almost like that old Led Zeppelin-y kind of tubby but nice low end.
And so by playing with the high, medium and low switch, I can shave it off, get rid of
the frequencies I don't like.
[G] So when I go back to the thicker channel, what I do is I get rid of the frequencies
that I don't like and then I kind of turn up the bass that I do like.
In between the two, I get this kind of real _ [C] _ _ _ _ _
_ thick_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ I keep in mind my original sound is_
[A] _ So _ [Em] when [C#] you kick it _
[A] _ [D] [C] on_
[A] _ _ _ [F#m] _ [C] _
_ [N] _ _ _ _ It's great.
And what's nice about the treble feature is that I can basically kind of go for a real
kind of cutting blistering treble [D] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[A] _ _ _ [Gm] _ [A] _ _ _ [Gm] _
[D] _ _ _ [A] _ _ [F#] _ or I can almost kind of muffle it off, turn up the
bottom and [G] it's almost like an old_
Turn up my gain_
[E] _ So [F#m] _ _ [C#m] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [G] _ _ [E] _ _ [N] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ you can tell I can push it real far and that's probably why it is the top choice amongst
all the professional guitarists out there.
So there you have it.
The Ball Buster has actually become pretty much the top selling pedal amongst all of
the real professional guitarists and producers. _
Probably for its just overall tone and versatility but for some reason, this one seems to be
the standout, the front runner if you will.
And I know that a lot of people that use the vintage stuff respond really well to it.
So that's the deal with that.
