So, do you remember this tweet?
We got the scoop on the song Blake was talking about.
[Abm] Blake's new If I'm Honest album drops May 20th, featuring [Db] his single Came Here to Forget
[Gm] and many [C] more personal songs that Shelton can't wait for fans [G] to hear.
He [D] says the album will take a direct look into his personal life, and he's been writing a lot.
The song he tweeted about is one of two he wrote with [G] Jesse Alexander.
The [Dm] first is a song for the new [Bbm] Angry Birds movie.
It [G] is for his [C] character to sing.
He's an animated character and [D] he's not an angry bird, he's [F] a pig, I think.
Then, there's the song he tweeted [G] about in August.
He started an incredible song, a gospel song, and [Dm] asked me and JR to help him [Bb] finish and
we actually [G] worked on the strings today.
[Bb] It's [C] beautiful and moving and I [Cm] can't wait for him to tell the story.
[Bb] It's almost [Eb] like his Why Me Lord.
JR [C] is John Randall, the other dude in that clip.
Why Me Lord is referring to a Kris Kristofferson song.
[Fm] Alexander and [G] Randall were a part [Dm] of the Life and Songs [D] of Kris Kristofferson concert at
the Bridgestone Arena on March 16th.
They played an original song, called Kristofferson, and came back on stage to sing an all-call
version of Why Me.
It's a gospel-flavored song that surprised [Bbm] everyone when it was [G] released in [D] 1973.
That was really out of nowhere for Kris.
He was this outlaw, [G] just like Blake.
[C] They came with Why Me Lord and it shot up to the [G] top of the Billboard [Dm] charts because
it was so unexpected [Bb] and it was so raw.
[C]
[Bbm] Not that I feel like our [C] song is anywhere near Why Me Lord, but it's in the [Bb] same class
and [Eb] feel and [Bb] it came deep from Blake's soul.
We were just glad we got to help him birth [C] it.
Could this be another hit for [F] Shelton?
It [G] sounds like it could be a [C] career song.
Penned by [F] a duo that co-wrote Whiskey [G] Lullaby and
