[N]
[G] Hello, I'm Britt Turner.
I'm Charlie Starr from Blackberry Smoke.
[A]
[E] [G]
[A]
[E] This record that [C] we've just [A] finished,
it's called Holding All the Roses, [Gbm] by the way,
[B]
it was [E] a little different [A] process than making the [Ab] Whip-A-Wheel
because we had a little more time, [A]
three more days actually,
[E] which is not that much time.
Seems like there was less pressure [Eb] to get it finished,
but we finished it in ten [G] days.
[A] The difference being we [Ab] worked with a producer this time,
other [G] than just a committee sort of [Gb] production,
we worked with Brendan [D] O'Brien, who's a legendary producer,
[E] and his work is [Gm] some of our favorite.
[G] He's made some of our favorite rock and roll records over [D] the years,
and he was a pleasure to work with.
[B]
He's somebody that we [Ab] wanted to be able to reach out [G] and get in touch with
to [Gm] produce a record for a long time,
and we didn't have the [C] capability until now.
Of course, [A] he's a busy guy.
But everything aligned, and we made a great record, [E] I feel.
[A]
[E] [A]
[E] [A]
We started [Abm] out in Atlanta, [Ab] Georgia, recording the basic [G]
tracks
at a place called The Quarry.
[D] It [A] was easy.
We just set up and ran the songs.
He just knew how to get the tones that we wanted,
and [D] we [G] had a great [D] time.
[E]
[Bm]
[D] [Bm]
I don't think that we felt pressure [D] from the [Gb] industry or our fans, really.
[G]
[D] They're [Gb] a forgiving bunch.
[D] [A]
[Em]
[G] [A]
Lyrically [E] this time, well, I promised myself I wouldn't write [G] anything
that was biblical in nature, and I [E] lied.
[Gm] There are two more.
I guess I had two more to [G] shake out of there.
[A] But I think this, [C] lyrically this album, [G] maybe it's a little,
[A]
there's a little more anger [G] in it, I don't know.
And it may just be the [E] time we live in.
I [G] don't know, because I'm happy.
I'm not angry.
Do I look [A] angry?
[E] No.
[A]
[D]
[E]
[A] [D]
We have to find a new one.
