single debuted at number five and just this past week went to number one on the billboard country
music fest.
[A#] This new cd is [N] called one voice billy gilman.
Hey how are you billy?
Good and you?
Nice
to see you.
He's such a nice young man.
When I saw you early you said hey.
Hey it was an honor to meet you.
Well thank you it's an honor to meet you as well.
Now you're you're from Rhode Island.
How did a nice
boy from Rhode Island, not that nice boys don't like country music, but how did you get interested
in country music?
Well basically because my family grew up on it and I grew up on it listening to
Tammy Wynette, [A] Patsy Cline, George Jones, all the country legends and then pretty soon Pam [N] Tillis
who is in who's my influence and he basically got me started.
That's right in fact you recorded a
song with her didn't you?
You recorded a song with some country singer didn't you when you were
younger?
No I sang with her on stage.
Oh on stage okay.
But um uh she was at the grand old opry when I made my debut
last month and it was so fun because she was awarded a member of the grand old opry so it was a really
special night for her.
Oh that's great and I know you've been singing since you were three years old
three years to perform karaoke songs in your neighborhood and all that and now at 12 you got
a number one hit that's unbelievable.
So it's really overwhelming really.
I bet it is.
It's just
incredible.
Now you were supposed to perform for us last month but you lost one of your teeth in a
golf and I hit the ball next to a creek and a kid next to me hit over the creek 10 feet away
and so probably the instructor said you hit and so the the kid over the creek and so he said okay
and he didn't say look out or anything and it knocked my right front tooth out.
But now it's fine.
Now it's fine.
Okay well you got two teeth and you're gonna sing one voice right?
Yes.
All right
all right well ladies and gentlemen.
Hi to my Nana and Mimei.
