[Dm] [Bb]
[Dm] Hey [Gm] guys, more exciting news.
I'm teaming up with High Spirit Flutes.
This is a Native American flute company based in Arizona.
When you use my code BEV, you get free domestic shipping on your Native American flute.
I love the [N] Native American flute.
It has a beautiful warm tone and is so satisfying.
Another cool thing about this instrument is it doesn't require a lot of experience to play.
Today I'm going to share three different Native American flutes.
I'm going to play them for you and talk about why I like them so you can hear for yourself.
I'm going to start with the Sparrowhawk in A.
This flute is made out of cedar and actually
smells really nice.
There's also these beautiful turquoise inlays here.
Now if you're a beginner Native American flute player, I recommend starting with an A or a G.
The reason for this is you'll notice it's small.
The trickiest part about the Native American flute is just figuring out where your fingers
go to memorize this feeling of where the holes are underneath your fingers.
The smaller the flute, the closer the holes are together.
[F] [Bm] [C]
[Bm] [C] [Bm]
[C] [Bm]
[Am] [Em]
[Bm]
[N] What I noticed about this flute right away is how high it sounds.
The smaller the Native American flute is, the higher pitched it will be.
This means it requires less air.
So again, great for beginner students, great for little kids too.
Four or five year olds will love this flute.
Next I'm going to play the Redtail Hawk.
This is in the key of G.
It's also made out of cedar and smells really nice.
Has some beautiful crafted designs here.
All of these flutes are handcrafted.
[Bm]
[B] [Bm]
[Ebm] [Eb]
[G] [Ebm]
[G] You'll [N] [Bm]
[Eb] [G]
[Eb] [G]
notice that I removed the cloth that was around the third hole here.
That is so I have another note to work with.
However, when you're a beginner flute player, it's best to keep that on and it makes things
a little more simple to start with.
I was also improvising everything I played.
This is great for you classically trained or trained musicians who are so comfortable
reading notes but maybe not as comfortable when there's nothing in front of you.
It gives you a new relationship to music that is so valuable.
The last flute I'm going to play for you is the Condor Bass in the key of D.
This flute is made out of Spanish cedar.
You'll notice that it is longer and bigger than the other two flutes I played.
It will have a lower pitch.
[Bb]
[Dm] [C]
[A] [Bb] [Dm] [A]
[Dm]
[Gm] [B] [G] This flute has a beautiful low color.
It's [N] deeper in pitch and has a warm kind of feeling.
Now the holes are spread out further apart from each other which makes it a little bit more challenging.
One tip I can offer you to all of my beginner native flute students is to make sure to use
the fleshy part of your finger when you're covering the holes instead of the tips.
This way there's more coverage on the tone holes.
When you order a Native American flute from High Spirit Flutes, they all come with a DVD.
Now this DVD is a great starter packet.
It will help you with fingerings, how to create melodies, and lots of other cool tips.
I will include in the description box below the exact flutes I played today and I'll also
have a link to the High Spirit's website where you can check out their entire inventory of flutes.
Please subscribe to my YouTube channel and follow me on Instagram and [Ab] Facebook.
Thank you.
