Well, yes.
Ghost Notes.
I know everybody is wondering when I was going to talk about my ghost notes.
Well, I'm going to do it right now.
First of all, I'd like you to know where and how they came from.
Okay?
Well, it happened because as I was practicing all the time at home,
I used to sit at the drums and do things with my hands.
And I just had a feeling I was always rocking, always grooving.
So as time went on, I started doing things like I was playing timbales or bongos.
This is how I started.
And I started to like the sound.
As you can see, nothing is ever precise.
It's all about allowing your fingers to do the walking.
But I had to do that with sticks.
I says, oh, how do I do that with sticks?
Okay.
Let me see.
Let's see.
All right.
Oh, that works.
All right.
[Abm]
Okay.
And from there, I had this, wait a minute.
Well, what can I do?
[F] [D]
Well, I can
[Abm] hi-hat.
Oh, yes.
Well, the sound was similar with the hi-hat instead of the big cymbals.
And it seemed to work, especially with my fingers playing the backbeat on cross stick.
All right.
Oh, then I discovered.
I got some air in my hi-hat.
I kind of like that sound.
Whoa.
The first time that happened to me, it was an accident.
16th notes.
Oh, I like that.
So I started to do a lot more.
Now I started to add the backbeat.
But I still have to remember that the sticks have to do the rhythm.
[Eb] [G]
Oh, [E] yes.
[N]
Whoa.
I like it very much.
[Db]
[B]
Oh, hey, hey, hey.
