Chords for Behind the Scenes with Tabernacle Choir Contest Winners

[G] I followed the choir on Facebook, saw the contest and boom, [N] entered.

I really didn't know that there was all of this below.
We have the mirror, we have all of the extra dresses.
All the [Bb] extra dresses are.
_ _ _ The sparkles, they don't wear [F] that, but it's still pretty.
Four years ago I auditioned and I, it was the wrong year and it didn't [Em] work out, but [Dm] this
is like my way of being in the choir anyway.
_ [F] This is beautiful, gorgeous Valerie.
Aww.
I'm sick.
_ Erase, erase. _
She's helping fit us so that we match the choir.
And she [Bb] told me the coolest thing.
This is actually cool.
They make every dress for [F] the person that it is.
So, like for [Dm] me, I have short [Bb] arms and short legs, so everything would be catered to my
short arms and short legs.
I feel like I would walk out and no one would know that [F] I wasn't a part of the choir.
The choir members were [Dm] so kind to [Bb] me.
They were so _ _ congratulatory.
They were [Dm] just fun and [F] made me feel like I was a part of [Dm] them. _
[Bb] _ _ We're in the men's dressing room.
Yeah.
Apparently [F] underneath a bunch of grass.
I guess this is where all the choir members get suited [Bb] up and get all measured and one
of these fits me, I hope.
First [F] let's go over and we'll try on a coat.
That was kind of fun.
I don't think I've [Dm] ever had anybody [Bb] ask me if this fit real nice. _ _
[F] So _ this is the music boxes, kind of like [Bb] mailboxes, where they get their music and messages about
what's going on [F] next or what they need to do. _ _

This is Debbie Martin.
She [Bb] is the choir librarian.
Hi Debbie.
Hi guys.
[Dm] She's going to give you a quick little tour of the library.
There's about 2,500 [Bb] pieces in the library and [F] each one has about 400 copies.
_ So that means there's [Dm] about a million pieces of music [F] in the library.
The most exciting thing to me [Bb] was when she said that they have music dating [Dm] back to some
of the [F] beginning part of the choir, like [B] 1920s.
Yeah.
[Dm] That would be amazing to see a piece of music like [F] that.
I feel like everybody's so [B] happy to [F] see us, like me and the other winners, and have just
treated us like so welcome with open arms and so [Dm] it's made it really comfortable to be here.
_ [Bb] This is really _ amazing to be [Dm] standing here in this historic place in the Tabernacle.
I'm [Bb] listening to the orchestra down here as they rehearse.
[Dm] _
The choir up here, the members are taking their seats.
Yeah, I won the Facebook [Bb] contest.
_ And so now I'm like completely blown away by all [F] this.
I loved being directed by [Dm] these amazing directors, hearing [Gm] _ what they tell the choir on a [F] regular basis.
Things to do, things not to do.
[Bb] It was just so much fun to feel a real part of the choir.
[Dm] I got to stand [F] next to all the other brethren in my section and [Bb] they were giving me pointers
and tips and history and telling me little [F] interesting things about the choir [Bb] as we were practicing.
And then of course we came on Sunday to do [N] the performance.
And for the first time in my life, [Bb] with the exception of _ daddy [Db]-daughter days at primary,
I got [Cm] makeup put [Dm] on me.
I got to wear the outfit and the jewelry that matches everybody and [F] I did my makeup. _
_ [G] _ _ _ It was great.
There [F] was a uniquely different [D] feel [C] to the Sunday [G] performance.
It was like [C] everybody just kind of [Dm] _ [A] synchronized while [F] we were up there.
[Dm] And when we were singing, it was [C]
like all the voices [G] just all of a sudden became one voice.
[C] And then just the angelic [A] [G] sounds of the [A] choir.

Certainly one of [Db] the highlights of my life [F] to [Gb] sing with the choir [Eb] and hear the power
of [Ab] the choir [Db] and at [Ab] times it was a little bit overwhelming [A] and even emotional [Bbm] for me.

[Eb] _ _ [Ab] _ _ My experience today [Db] was, if I [Bb] had to sum it up in one word, it was [Ebm] thrilling. _
[Eb] _ _ [Ab] _ _ I feel like it's [Db] really inspiring is the word that I [Ebm] would use.
It [Ab] [Bbm] was a remarkable [Gb] experience.
_ [Ab] _ _ _ [Db] _ Absolutely extraordinary.
