Behind The Scenes At The Tiny Desk in 360˚: Wilco chords
Start Jamming...
Welcome.
You're looking at the Tiny Desk, our own little makeshift concert venue right
in the middle of NPR's offices in DC.
I'm Bob Boylan, the host of NPR Music's All Songs
Considered.
Turn around.
There I am, by the window.
The Tiny Desk is actually my desk,
but I move out of the way when bands play there.
We've had more than 500 bands play
the Tiny Desk in the middle of the workday, with news going on all around them.
Staff
comes from across the building.
It's one of the great perks of working here.
We wanted
to show you how this happens, so when Wilco came to play, we put two 360 degree cameras
right between the band and the audience.
Not only can you see the band up close, if you
look around, you can see everything else that goes into making a Tiny Desk concert.
That's
our engineer.
These are our videographers.
And here's the crowd.
You'd probably recognize
some of their voices.
And if you look very carefully, you might be able to spot seven
of Wilco's album covers around the desk, and references to each one we hid in the crowd.
Of course, there's the band too.
All this is going on while Wilco plays Misunderstood,
from its great double album being there.
Look around.
There's lots to see.

Wilco's one of those rare bands that [Bb] just continues over so long.
We all know that because
we're here, but over so [G] long to make [Gb] vibrant, wonderful, amazing music.
[N]
Thank you everybody.
Thanks for having us.
A loud, warm welcome to Wilco.

Back in your old [C] neighborhood, [G] your cigarettes taste [C] so good, [G] you're so [C] misunderstood, you're
[G] so misunderstood, there's something there that you [C] can't find.
[G] You look honest when
you're [C] telling a lie, [G] you hurt her but you don't [C] know why, you love her but you don't
[G] know why.
You're short on long [C]-term goals, [G] there's a party there that we [C] ought to go
to.
[G] You still love [C] rock and roll, you still love rock [G] and roll.
It's only a [C] quarter to
three, [G] reflecting off of your [C] CD, [G] you're looking at a [C] picture of me, you're staring at a [G] picture
of me.
Take the guitar, play a [C] four-row ride, [G] see you've never been [C] satisfied.
[G] He thinks
he owes you some [C] kind of debt, he [G] hears before he [C] gets over it.

[G] Fortune [C] inside your head,
[G] all you touch [C] turns to lead, [G] you might just crawl [C] back in bed.
Fortune inside [G] your head,
I know you're just a [C] mama's boy, [G] you're positively [C] unemployed, [G] so [C] misunderstood,
[G] so misunderstood.
I know you got a God [C]-shaped hole, [G] you're bleeding out your awful [C] soul,
[G]
[C] so misunderstood, [G] so [C] misunderstood, [G] so [C] misunderstood, [G] so [C] misunderstood.
[G] I'd like to thank you all
for nothing, I'd like to thank you all for nothing at all, I'd like to thank you all
for nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing at all.
[N]
Oh, I [B] [Db]
feel like I'm hallucinating.
Was there a [E] woman standing here with two ears of corn
for [N] a second?
Okay.
I'm [B] not, for, for, [A] okay.
Set the marina [B] tower?
Ah, ah, did [Em] not get it, sorry.
And there was somebody back there with a guitar, holding
a [N] guitar up, like they were playing along or something, and then they were so still
I thought it was like just a cardboard cutout of somebody, and then it moved.
[Gb] Tired, I'm tired.
