Oh in a moment we'll speak to Sean Ryder and Rowetta from the Happy Mondays
and in the red corner Clint Boone and Craig Gill from Inspiral Comics.
What a good clean contest
no spitting, gouging, any of that sort of stuff.
[D] There's only one way to decide, oh no this is not
just one way to decide this.
Let's remind ourselves first of some of their hits.
[G]
[D] [Bm] [D]
[Bb] [C]
[Gm] Let's crucify some brother [C] today and dig what you gotta say so come on and say yeah

[Abm] [B]
This is how it feels to [Eb] be lonely,
[Abm] this is how it feels [E] to be small
[B] This is how it feels when [Gb] your word means nothing [B] at [G] all
[C]
[G] [C]
[G] Lady Tickle Rattle and [C] Seat 64, [G] Jerry White's the field [C] racket
[G] There's a popular misconception, [C] [G] since we haven't seen anything [C] yet
[G]
[C] Oh yeah okay we're chatting lineups with them all [N] yeah Sean Ryder, Rowetta, Clint Boone and
Craig Gill all with us good morning good morning good morning looking a bit older on that on that
How do you look so fresh now we heard that Labyrinth tried to get to bed at four o'clock
in the morning and didn't have much sleep are you morning people?
Well I am but I also only
live four minutes away from here.
Did you walk here this morning?
I jogged.
Did you really?
You look so fresh.
I love it now because it's moved to Manchester.
Salford.
You've got to be very careful.
Bill's moving to Salford.
Yeah it's going to be very very careful.
Move to Weest aren't you Bill?
Sorry?
Weest?
That's where I heard you're moving.
Weest.
If I knew where it was I'd be like.
It takes you two seconds to get in the studio in the morning.
You know more about where Bill's living than Bill knows.
So great to see you all we were just as
excited about the lineups.
Have you managed to get everybody back together because [E] it appears you
have but not necessarily but everybody we saw.
Yeah we've got Stephen our original singer the
guy you just saw there was Tom Ingley and he left last year so we've got Stephen [N] Holt back in who
was the original singer so it's the original lineup it's a good lineup it works.
Did it take
much persuasion for you all to get back together because there are sometimes and I think it was
the case with with your band too there's always one or two say I'm never going back again.
There has been and in the past if somebody's not wanting to do it we've not done it but it just
helps the demand build up in between doing gigs.
And have you toured together before?
We [E] never
toured we did gigs with them back in the day we did our first gig abroad was Valencia.
Sean won't
remember [N] this but we did Valencia back in the mid 80s.
When I got sunburned.
Sean had sunstroke.
That's right.
Really really bad.
Someone left me on a beach for eight hours of sleep.
In Spain.
Somebody left you.
Yeah right.
Everybody kept saying oh that singer from that Monday's sleep
on beach and I'll leave him it'll be all right.
I think they're on at six o'clock in the morning
I think Gadsby drummer fell off his drumstool at the end of the set.
Rowetta you were known then as
the 24-hour party people on the road now is [Eb] it a slightly more sedate schedule?
Yeah definitely
I've got a lot of gigs to do as well and some of the rest of the band they've aged a lot they're
older than I am.
Have you just stayed the same?
I've stayed the same yeah but the rest of them
are a bit older than they used to be so no I'm joking we're going to work [Am] hard though because
we've got a lot of gigs to do.
Do you have to [N] get his sort of cocoa and slippers out then?
Well I
don't but his wife probably does.
You know what we've got 17 kids between us I've just worked it
out.
What?
Between us four.
That's just between me and you.
You said we're up all night now we're up
night looking after kids.
Yeah I mean clearly everyone's grown up it has got it has all calmed
down a bit nobody's going to be leaving you on a beach for eight hours you can look after yourself.
No he'll probably leave me on the service station or something like that.
What is it going to be
like then being on the road together 17 kids between you presumably not coming with you?
Oh
god no no I mean it's you know this time around I actually think it'll be it'll be fun you know
when we did it originally you're just in such a you know you're on a treadmill and it really is
business you know I mean [B] so I mean there's not much time to enjoy it or [Ab] anything so this time
I mean at least you know [Bb] we're all older we're all slowed down a bit we can enjoy it you know what
we're doing.
Does that mean that you take [Ab] time between gigs it's not such a kind of [Fm] relentless
thing do you have you got more control over how you plan it and you think actually I [Eb] can't do that?
I can't I couldn't I couldn't go you know I mean I mean we went [Ab] on tour our [F] tours lasted for years
and we can't party every night [N] like we used to.
No you can't party at all.
Well what do you do
after a gig nowadays?
Straight to bed for me.
No.
Really?
Sometimes I'll [Ab] DJ do a little DJ gig maybe
but yeah when we're on tour it's just you pace [Em] yourself get rid of it next day.
Yeah.
Feel boring
isn't it?
Head [Ab] to bed with a glass of red [G] wine and a nice book.
[Ab] Yeah well you've seen some of the old
[F] hits um this morning's I'm looking at [Em] one now but will [B] there be new music on the tour?
We're
writing new music I've done [E] quite a few new songs and there will be maybe not in this set with the
Mondays I think it's going to be a hit set that we're doing with these guys so right but we have
been [Em] writing new stuff.
Just finished our own tour and we played our new single Feel So Good For Me.
Get that [N] in!
Where is it again?
Feel So Good [Bm] For Me.
Anything you anything [Am] you want to tell us about new [Em] music
Sean?
No actually I mean well I've actually got an album coming out [E]
next year along with my TV show.
Everyone's got new projects but we are gonna we have got to concentrate on Happy Mondays at the
moment.
Yeah.
We have to don't we?
[Eb] We've got to rehearse and everything and we're going to enjoy it.
You branched in a very different direction didn't you because you were on X Factor.
Yeah I did and
I did stuff with Hooky and things.
I did really well with it but at the moment I [F] am just focusing
on this because we've got songs I love the music and I did miss doing this music I love the songs
[Bb] and the new fans that have never seen the original lineup before it's brilliant for them you know to
see these bands that they've never seen before live and the whole lineup to get our whole lineup
together I thought it'd never happen.
I didn't think I'd be sat next to Sean ever again so it's
great I think.
And when you say whole lineup is Bez there with the maracas?
Absolutely yeah [Ebm] there's a
room we started at Bez isn't there but [N] he is absolutely 110 percent.
He might not want to
shake maracas to every tune he said he might not.
What's he going to be doing?
He'd be getting the
crowd going DJing, comparing, he'd be with us.
Good all right well sounds very exciting.
Where does the
tour start?
I don't know.
Fourth of May.
Third of May.
Fourth of May.
Third of May.
Third of May.
Fourth of May I'm not on the first one.
Got that nail done.
All right guys thanks very much.
It won't be the same if you don't turn up.
No no and we're all back to [F] Sean's because he's closest for
St Brecken.
Welcome to my St Brecken.
Nice to be in the north by the way.
Wow it's nice to be here.

_ Yeah it's going to be very very careful.
Move to Weest aren't you Bill?
Sorry?
Weest?
That's where I heard you're moving.
Weest.
If I knew where it was I'd be like.
It takes you two seconds to get in the studio in the morning.
You know more about where Bill's living than Bill knows.
_ _ So great to see you all we were just _ _ as
excited about the lineups.
In Spain. _ _
Somebody left you.
_ Yeah right.
_ Have you just stayed the same?
I've stayed the same yeah but the rest of them
are a bit older than they used to be so no I'm joking we're going to work [Am] hard though because
we've got a lot of gigs to do.
Do you have to [N] get his sort of cocoa and slippers out then?
Well I
don't but his wife probably does.
You know what we've got 17 kids between us I've just worked it
out.
What?
Between us four.
That's just between me and you. _ _ _ _
You said we're up all night now we're up
night looking after kids.
Yeah _ I mean clearly everyone's grown up it has got it has all calmed
down a bit nobody's going to be leaving you on a beach for eight hours you can look after yourself.
No he'll probably leave me on the service station or something like that.
What is it going to be
like then being on the road together _ 17 kids between you presumably not coming with you?
Oh
god no no I mean it's you know this time around I actually think it'll be it'll be fun you know
when we did it originally you're just in such a you know you're on a treadmill and it really is
business you know I mean _ [B] so I mean there's not much time to enjoy it or [Ab] anything so this time
I mean at least you know [Bb] we're all older we're all slowed down a bit we can enjoy it you know what
we're doing.
Does that mean that you take [Ab] time between gigs it's not such a kind of [Fm] relentless
_ thing do you have you got more control over how you plan it and you think actually I [Eb] can't do that?
_ _ Get that [N] in! _
Where _ is it again?
_ Feel So Good [Bm] For Me.
_ Anything you anything [Am] you want to tell us about new [Em] music
Sean?
_ No actually I mean well I've actually got an album coming out [E]
next year along with my TV show. _ _
_ _ _ Everyone's got new projects but we are gonna we have got to concentrate on Happy Mondays at the
moment.
_ Fourth of May I'm not on the first one.
It's very good to be here.
Lovely to see you.
Thank you.
