This will be a tutorial for playing the Batman theme on piano.
And of course I'm talking about the real Batman from the 1960s TV series starring Adam West.
This is going to be played in the key of G.
I will add a caveat that I'm not really a piano player so when I try to play this thing
up to speed it's probably going to sound pretty bad.
But anyway, it's basically a 12 bar blues.
So starting out we're going to have a root G and a fifth D.
[G]
[C#] It's [C] going to go up to a root C and a G.
[C]
[G] Back to the G.
[C#] Then a root D and an A.
[G] [Bm] Down to the C.
[C] Back to [G] the G.
[B] [D] In [G] the right hand, the Batman lyric, over the G we're going to play a G and an F.
[G]
[C#] Over the C we're going to play a C and a [C] B flat.
[C]
[G] Back to the G.
[G]
[D] Over the D we've got a D and a C.
[C] Down to the C.
[C] Back to the [G] G.
[D]
That's the main part of it.
At the beginning of the piece is a little trumpet flurry.
I don't know what it is exactly [Bm] but I just made up something.
I'm doing a little chromatic down and back up starting on a D.
[G]
[B] Then we have sock, pow, and zock.
I don't know what the horns are playing there so I just made up something for that too.
I'm going to do a C [A#] over B flat, G [F] over F, and [B] D over [G] C.
[C#]
That's pretty much [G] it.
Now I'll see if I can actually play the whole thing or not.
[C] [G]
[C] [G]
[D]
[C]
[G]
[D] [C] [G]
[C] [G]
[G]
