[G] Okay, so I said I would try a video today.
[Ab] And this song has been stuck in my head for about a week or two.
Found it [Gb] [Eb] online.
[A]
Just searching around, listening to different tunes, seeing what's out there, what's getting
played, what's not getting played, and I stumbled across this song.
Originally performed by a [Gb] band called The Great Depression.
I think it was back in 2005.
A guy by the name of Arlo McKinney redid it and put it on YouTube and he did a phenomenal
job on it.
The song just pulled me in.
It's a real dark, gloomy type of depressing song.
And I get asked a lot, you know, why so depressing?
Calvin, why do you play these sad songs?
And I think it's because anybody can write or perform a happy song.
Everybody's singing along.
Those are great.
You know, we're driving in our car and we got the four and a four sound going and we're
driving in traffic and we're just not thinking about nothing.
But once in a while, people are not okay with the world around them.
And songs like this one I'm getting ready to play is dark and gloomy as they are actually
give these people that are in the frame of mind, something to relate to, which in turn
I believe makes them feel not so alone.
At least that's what it does for me sometimes.
Those sad songs pull me in because I may have been experiencing or have experienced those
feelings and I can relate to them.
And I think as far as my fans, [Bb]
they're the same way, whether it's the songs I [Gb] write or
play, they're relatable.
And I figure there's plenty of artists out there doing whatever, having a good time.
You can turn on the radio and listen to that stuff all day long, but every now and then
we just need something relatable.
So I'm going to play this one for you.
Let me know what you think about it.
Who knows, I may even record it one day.
[B] [Gb]
[B]
[B] You want it, I can feel it.
I got a bag of pills I've been dealing.
[Abm]
So I can take [E] you drinking.
Don't tell me about a love thing.
We'll get high and talk until morning.
[Abm]
You can [E] catch me sleeping.
[Abm] And all I need now [E] I don't want.
[Abm] And all I love now [E] it's all gone to [B] my head.
[Ab]
[B] Hey, old [Ab] Jesus, [B] can you help me?
I didn't think so, guess that you're [Abm] busy.
I guess [E] we're all busy.
[B] You remember when you told [Ab] me.
I believed [B] I'd never be [Abm] lonely.
I think [E] you were lying.
[Abm] And all I need now [E] I don't want.
[Abm] And all I love [E] now it's all gone to my [B] head.
[Gb]
[Abm] Life, I don't [E] want it.
It's [B] so easy to die.
[Abm] Life, I don't [E] want it.
It's so [B] easy to die.
[Abm]
[Bb] So I know it's kind of a gloomy song.
But thank you for watching.
And get out there and subscribe to my YouTube channel.
So I can do more of this type of stuff.
And let me know what you think.
Put your comments [B] down.
Let's talk.
Let's discuss ideas.
I mean, I don't know everything.
So I rely on you guys a lot to give me feedback
and let me know what you're thinking or feeling.
And I get a lot of ideas for songs.
I get a lot of ideas for where to play next
and all kinds of things like that.
So [Gb] feel free.
Subscribe and let me know what you think.
[Eb] I hope you enjoyed it.
