So, my favorite [A] record right now is definitely Rage [C] Against the Machine's [G] self-titled [Am] album,
their debut album.
It's what I [C] kind of grew up with, and [Am] they really inspired me to do a lot of what [C] I do
musically [E] on the bass guitar.
I know it [Am] seems a little bit weird for me to [C] say that Rage Against the Machine is my
[Am] main musical influence, but [Bm] Tim's bass tone is absolutely [E] huge.
The way that he and [C] Brad [B] lock in in the rhythm [Am] section is amazing.
[G] It really speaks [E] to the inner angsty 14 [C]-year-old [B] teenager that I [A] always am.
And yeah, Rage Against the Machine's self-titled [F] favorite album.
[F#m]
[F#] [F] All-time favorite record is a very hard decision, [Am] but I have to go with the one that pops to
my mind first, and that is Joe [F] Satriani's Surfing with the Alien.
When I heard it, it [Dm] made me,
Oh, what is [Am] that?
And I've had [G] songs that have done that for me, [F] but as far as an overall album is concerned,
every song, one after the [A] other, was just even more [G] inspiring than the last.
And [F] I've taken massive, massive [D] influence from it, and I highly [E] recommend you check it out.
[A]
Oh my goodness, [F] my all-time favorite record. [C] Hmm.
[G] This is probably [A] going to come as a surprise to anyone who thinks I'm [F] a huge metalhead,
but [C] maybe something like [G] Heartbeat City from The Cars.
[Am] Or yeah, or [C] [G] basically anything [Am] from Supertramp, Crime of the Century [C] probably.
That might be my, [Am] okay, maybe that might be my favorite [Bm] actually.
Yeah, so.
[E] Yeah, anything early [C] rock and [B] early [A] prog I love. So, yeah.
[F]
[F#m] Oh, my favorite [F#] record is [C#] a record, actually, no one's, I hate sounding like this [F] because
I'm going to sound like a hipster, but it's Antidotes by a band called Foles, and they're
[Am] an indie rock band that was a math rock [B] band, just to make my [Am] beanie [F] have its justification [Dm] here.
But no, [D] it's a perfect album.
It's [E] really old, they never did another [Am] album like it.
The drums [G] are amazing, the snare sounds amazing, [F] everything blends perfectly, the vocals are
used like an instrument, the guitars are treated like a [Am] machine.
It's like, it's the [G] perfect album, perfect album I've ever heard.
It influences [F] all of my music and no one ever knows what [D] album I'm talking about, so.
[E] Except it's not, it's not the one.
[A]
[F] Glenn, could you please.
[C]
Number one [G] album of all time for me, gun to my [A] head, I gotta take one to my grave, [F] it's
Abbey Road by The Beatles.
They [C] did everything long before everybody [G] else.
It's just plain beautiful.
[A] The most epic [Am] outro of all time.
They combined [B]
all the best elements of [Am] music into one thing.
[F#] It's very harmonically advanced.
I fucking love it.
Oh, and they basically invented [F] prog with that [B] album.
[Am] My favorite record, I think, after a long time [D] of [Em] thinking about this, [D] I think mine
is [F] Van Halen 1.
[F#] Not because it's the greatest [G] record, not because it's the most technical [C] record, whatever.
I think it's the greatest record for me because it [Bm] changed my life and inspired me [G] to play
music and guitar and [D] it led me to where I am today.
[A] And that's why Van Halen 1 is the greatest [Bm] record in my [A#m] opinion.
[Dm]
[E] In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth by Coden Cambria.
[Am] It's the one with like, [Gm] A [E] Favorite House in Atlantic and [Am] Blood Red Summer and The Crowing.
[B] That was the record that got me away from like, there was a transition in everyone's
life where it was like, oh, I listened to like, Bugs Bunny doing country songs and CDs
and like, whatever my dad listens to.
To like, having your own identity and your own music that shapes who you're going to
be as an artist.
[F] And Coden Cambria was that for me.
I remember [E] watching Fuse TV, [B] which is like a cooler [E] MTV.
I don't know if you've seen it, but I remember watching that and the video for A Favorite
House in Atlantic came on and the singer came up.
I couldn't tell if it was a girl or a guy because it had a beard, but it had very long
poofy hair and a voice was like, way, way high up there.
But to this day, that's my favorite [C] band.
