[E] [D]
[A] [D]
I [A] love doing what I do.
[Bm] It's funny, when you dream about playing [E] music,
as a kid I kind of dreamed about it quietly,
because it's [Em] one of those things that you don't tell people you want to grow up with
and make music for a living,
because it's just one of those things that doesn't happen for many people.
And so the fact that it happened,
and that I'm allowed to [G] play music and do not just what I love to do,
but what I know I'm called to do,
and just feel complete fulfillment in that,
I absolutely love what I do.
I think the only downside is having to be away from home.
When we're on tour, having to be away from my wife and my kids,
and just from my friends and my church family,
just the people who have invested so much into my life.
That's the only downside, because I really am traveling [G] with family,
these guys in the band.
My heroes were guitar players like Eddie Van Halen,
Jimmy Page, people like that.
[B]
And later, actually, once I got into Christian music,
Phil Keggy was a huge influence.
Not in my style, because I don't play anything like him,
but just to be inspired [G#] by him,
and just him as a person,
and everything he stands for in representing Christ,
and just his musicality is unbelievable.

[F] I did [G] not grow up in a musical family,
but I grew up with very encouraging parents.
They saw in me at a young age that I had a love for music,
and they encouraged it.
[F] [E] They suggested [A] college.
They suggested an [G] education,
and they would have been [G#m] supportive of that,
but they were supportive [F] of me when I said I needed to step [F#] out of school,
and step [C] out of college.
I was only in for a brief time,
but when I knew that I had an [G] opportunity to chase this dream,
and to chase down music,
even though I wasn't really any good,
I'd been playing guitar for like three years,
[F#] they knew that that desire was [F] in me,
and when that opportunity happened,
they wanted me to be able [Am] to chase it down, and I did.
Sixteen years [B] later, here I'm sitting.
[G]
[C] [G]
[C] [F] It's just amazing how long these guitars ring [G] for.
[F#] I'll test drive one today, and you'll know.
If you're curious why someone would choose a MacPherson,
go play one.
The first thing that I noticed when I picked one up,
one was the weight of it.
Not that it's unbearably [Bm] heavy,
it's just solid.
When you pick it up, you feel like there's something special.
When you strum it,
and you just listen to how long it rings,
and rings, and rings,
I think it might ring longer [B] than my Les Paul.
It has so much sustain.
For an acoustic guitar, that's a rare thing.
I mean, just everything about it, when they build it,
you look on the inside, and you see how [E] much detail was paid,
the attention that they paid to the detail,
and it's [F#] unbelievable.
[G]
The time that went into designing it, and engineering it,
it's not just, hey, let's build a guitar.
It was, hey, let's build a better guitar.
Let's build something that will last for 100 years,
and make a change to what [E] people know as an acoustic guitar.
That's what a MacPherson is.
